I have not felt able to post before because I don't understand half of what you guys are talking about. I was diagnosed in November 05, spent some weeks on Hydroxy Urea and am on day 13 of Gleevec. I live in cape Town, South Africa. I hope that the little spats I have seen are unusual because I group ike this is so important. I must say, however, that it is quite intimidating for a newly diagnosed person to join in. Perhaps we need somebody to take on the job of inducting newbies? Anyway...I have a question. I am on day 13 of Gleevec. I keep hearing about all of you dealing with hectic side effects which are so bad that you have to stop taking it etc. Other than feeling really tired I have experienced nothing? Does that it mean it hasn't kicked in yet? What should I expect and when should I expect it? I must admit to havingfelt really sore on Hydroxy urea but the Gleevec seems not to have had any effect.
