Hi Jane, Sometimes we just have to teach our oncologists that Gleevec actually works and might even be a better option than a high risk BMT!! I am guessing that this is a FISH test, looking at a total of 306 cells? You might have 2 bad cells or you might not. This test has a margin of error, giving a false positive reading sometimes.........so you might actually be negative (the big Zero!) on FISH..........so this is indeed reason to celebrate. Keep teaching that oncologist....so that the next CML patient won't have it so bad. C.

Well, my oncologist got the rest of my results from the bone marrow biopsy(after almost 5 months on Gleevec) and she is very pleased..suddenly. She seems to have given up the BMT idea for a while. Problem is I am not sure how pleased I should be..I think I should be very pleased too but I want to make sure so...this is what they said: " Philadelphia negative (fusion negative) 99.35% (304 cells) Philadelphia positive (fusion positive) 0.65% (2 cells) " Is this as good as I hope it is? Hope you are all well and still fighting the good fight! Jane
