Guest guest
My potassium has been low for the entire 5+ years I have been on Gleevec. Luckily it has never gotten to a critical point, but it has gotten low enough to be of concern. Guest guest
Hi Amy, Hypokalemia (low potassium) is a recognized and documented side effect of Gleevec. My potassium level has been low the entire 4 years I've been on Gleevec but I eat potatoes by the pound so it hasn't become critical yet. Take care, Tracey
Guest guest
I've had low potassium as well as low calcium. My potassium was low enough to actually cause heart arrhythmia. Now I take potassium supplements regularly. Watch out for those diuretics. And the Gleevec diarrhea can do it too. ho
