Guest guest
Barbara, Yes I have joint and muscle pain, have been on Gleevec since 2001. My oncologist said it's one of the side affects. I know how you feel, don't feel bad about taking anything for pain. It's just one of those " thorns in the side " that we have to deal with. Guest guest
I'm not sure which it's from but yes it is directly related to the disease and/or it's treatment. I've had bouts of it from the time my treatment started. Some weeks I have nothing some weeks I'm in constant pain. I've had the pains in my legs, thighs, back, feet, wrists, etc. When the pain comes it's unbearable. My doctor gave me oxycondone for the pain and that works. I take it sparingly when I can't bear the pain. Good luck! :{ [ ] Joint and muscle pain Has anyone had problems with extreme pain in the joints and muscles? I used to never take medicine for pain, but noticed in the last month, I can't sleep for the pains especially in my hips and legs. Is this the CML or the Gleevec? Thanks Barbara
Guest guest
Hi , I am very bemused at the moment. Today I didn't take any thyroid med. i.e. Nature-throid, as I am having a blood test on Wednesday morning so am going to miss taking it because of blood test results, also I am doing the 24 hour urine test staring tomorrow so also have to miss taking thyroxine (results going to Dr.P). What I can't understand, and I hope someone can is that miraculously I have not had one pain today and have had so much energy that I haven't had for weeks, I managed to do today things that would normally take me a week to do, and I was walking everywhere with so much energy and didn't feel tired, no pains in hips or knees, elbows or finger or toe joints and also I feel a lot happier and better in myself. I really don't know why this should happen just because I am not taking the Nature-throid today, only that maybe it doesn't agree with me, I have been taking it for three weeks and when I look back I know realise that I have had worse pains in the last three weeks than before. Before that I was taking out of date Armour and I didn't feel very good either (although I did take it before it went out of date over a year ago and I was o.k. then, but I went back onto Levothyroxine because a doctor told me to) then I have been on LevoT for about a year and didn't feel right, as I mentioned I had one or two bad incidents where I nearly collapsed in the street as my muscles all seized up thats why I went back on to Armour (although it was out of date). On Wednesday after the G.P. blood test I have to go back onto some sort of thyroxin, maybe I should go back on the LevoT again? I haven't got any alternative at present, I just wish the old Armour was still available! Soon Dr. P will get my test results when I send them to the Lab, I'm also doing an adrenal saliva test. I would be interested in what people think is going on. I will look on the Dr. Lowe sight too for any insight. Thanks. Can anyone help. Thanks. > >
