You're right, when I was on Fludara and Rituxan I was told to drink three quarts of liquid a day.

Therefore, your comment about coffee and alcohol tending to "dry you up" is very valid.

I do not remember giving up coffee, nor being asked to. I also did not give up alcohol. But I drank water like crazy!!

The reason for the water is to help flush your system of some of the stuff introduced by the chemo. That is the basic principle. My personal opinion, a cup of coffee or a glass of wine is not going to have much negative effect. Taken to excess, of course, is another story.......
