Guest guest
Hello! I have posted a time or two, always because I'm a little freaked out and am looking for some answers here. My problem now is that my doc has had me taking 400 mgs of gleevec every other day since around Christmas time and of course since I have been on gleevec (DX 8/2005) I have not seen remission. While on 400 mgs daily my white count and anc would go really low, wc 1.2 anc .726 so that's why we did the every other day thing, Well, back in August when diagnosed at Mayo in MN they said that 98% of my cells were leukemic. When I had a FISH done is Nov. they said that 3.8% were leukemic. Since then is when I started every other day. I had a FISH drawn a week ago and now it's showong that 28% of my cells are leukemic. I am going to Mayo on March 27 and will be having a bmb done and seeing the doc. I spoke with here on the phone a little bit ago and she said that she doesn't know if I have failed gleevec because I haven't been on the normal dosage or if it's just that, that I haven't been on the proper dosage. So I guess what I'm looking for here is there anyone out there who has been through this?? And what do you guys think? Just when I thought things were going somewhat OK the bottom fails out again! Thanks for listening! Sheila 37 yrs old dx 8/
