Guest guest
Hi , I was wondering, and I may have asked this question before(so forgive me if I have), could you ask Dr. B. if there is any danger with taking " wheat grass " with IM. As you know, I am totally unfamiliar with herbal adjunctive therapy. My main efforts on staying healthy are primarily directed to eating only organic foods (and mostly vegetables)and lots of exercise and rest. However, this fall I found a new totally organic grocer and there was interesting information on " Wheat grass " . Wheat grass as I understand it is exactly what it implies, it is wheat grass that is cultivated when it is still very short in growth and is juiced. You either drink the juice fresh or freeze individual portions. Here's some information: " Wheatgrass juice is produced from red winter wheat. It begins it's life as seed, sprouts into a grass, matures slowly as it stores a burst of growth energy and then shoots into the familiar wheat stalk loaded with grain. It is harvested during it's grassy stage, when it is loaded with living energy by squeezing the tender young blades of the wheat plant to produce a rich, dark green liquid called wheatgrass juice. Properly produced wheatgrass juice contains well over 100 vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, essential fatty acids and anti- oxidants " . This past fall I took " one shot " of this juice once a day for about 3 weeks. Skeptic that I am, I really did not expect to see anything different. Contrary to my belief, I did see an improved energy level and I have to tell you everyone was commenting on how I looked (positively glowing dahling). Anyway, I stopped drinking it, because quite frankly, I am really concerned about taking in all those " mega nutrients " when we are trying to kill cancer. I must say I was worried that I could just as equally be " nourishing " the leukemia (although highly unlikely as I have nearly an undetectable level of minimal residual disease), which leads me to asking you if you could check with Dr. B. on his take about wheat grass. Thanks for your help with this , and if anyone else wants to jump in with any thoughts, I am all ears. Cheers, Peace, Love and Light, Cheryl-Anne

Hi Cheryl-Anne, I will fire an e-mail off to Dr. Bubalo.......... but here is my take on wheatgrass......first, it takes horrible! well, really intense. Some say that 1 oz.has the benefits of something like 10# of fruits and veggies. My own take is that to use one particular food item/ supplement can get you into the 'megadoses of a supplement' can act like a drug. I much prefer to have a variety of sources of nutrients. This also goes into the category of 'super greens' that we talked about before....spirulina and blue green algae. One thing that is a tremendous source of vitamins, mineral and all the other nutrients is anything sprouted....this totally changes a grain. So Ekeziel bread which has no flour and only sprouted grains..........and my latest discovery....raw, organic sprouted pumpkin seeds, which is one of the most beneficial seeds. Eating a variety of nuts and seeds (as snacks) is great... almonds, walnuts, etc. I never look for the ONE great product and expect miracles from it......my diet varies with the season and I try different things. I will let you know what opinion Dr. B has about wheatgrass. Maui Nanc
