Hi Fred, Thank you for your post re. the Rituxan and neupogen. I was going

to post somwthing similar but I think you explained it better than I could. I

have one question. We know the neutrophils knock out the cll cells in the

peripherial blood and the nodes. What I can't seem to find an answer to it

would

it have the same effect on the bone marrow. i ask that because that is where

my tumor load is and the one two punch of this combination makes sense to me.

Also I think with neupogin new cells would also have the markers so I think

its a very promising treatment. sincerely Arlene Pannullo

Arlene asks what effect R+N would have on one's bone marrow. In her intro to one

of the abstracts listed under the title " Neupogen Boosts Rituxan " on the CLL

Topics web site, makes this comment:

" This abstract....identifies clearly the advantage of mobilizing cancer cells

out of the bone marrow and lymph nodes with cancer specific monoclonal

antibodies like Rituxan and Campath... "

That abstract of a paper by Prof. Y. Gazitt of Texas Health Science Center is

much too technical for my tired brain to understand. I'd suggest you take a look

at it yourself; in many instances, will provide you with a full copy of

the paper.

In my experience I took R in combination with chemo and steroids two years ago

and received Neulasta after each round of therapy. It may well have helped my

marrow but that's strictly wishful thinking on my part as I've never had a BMB.
