Gee, all you folks who have " chopped off your hair " , were you sorry

afterward? I am thinking of getting nearly a buz cut prior to my hand surgery,

which

now has been postponed until April. I cannot imagine how I would blow dry and

curl hair with my hand/arm in a cast.

I already have short hair and, still, I fuss with it. During one of my

kidney surgeries my hair was so greasy that, in the middle of the night, I

tiptoed

into the bathroom and gave it a quick wash with soap. At 530 a nurse

commented on my not having the " greasies " and I was discharged that morning

(unscheduled). Got home and hemmorhaged, but was home because I could " wash my

hair " .

Don't want anything close to that to happen this time, even though I am

scheduled for day surgery! I have time to think about it, and won't do anything

rash until I'm sure!

I thank you for your idea, as I am one of the people worried about my hair

after surgery. Gosh, I'm talking hand surgery at this point, and when one has

healed, they will do the other. So, any back surgery is on hold right now!

That's a good idea. I need to get a haircut this week and will ask to have it

super-short.

Thank goodness I don't have to worry about having it under a plaster cast,

though, as so many of us did during the Dark Ages of Scoliosis Surgery.
