Guest guest
Here is a reference showing most nasal rinses available. www.midwestsinus.com/treatment/nasal washes rinses/types of nasal rinses .I make up a Ringer's solution and add xylitol using tap water sterilized in a pressure cooker for 20 minutes to make a gallon at a time and store in fridge.I use an Ohaus balance to weight out the NaCl(Kosher salt),KcL,sodium bicarbonate.CaCl2 and xylitol.I use a grossan hydropulse and a waterpik with the curved tip removed and smoothed and bury this to the hub to rinse out the frontals. The only thing I add sometimes is Tobramycin sulfate(comes in vials 40mg/ml) 1.5 ml added to last 100ml of nasal rinse.Dr .Hwang from Stamford stated that the time between sinus infections can be increased using antibiotics in a rinse versus orally ie 11 vs. 6 weeks. But the downside is that bacterial selection or resistance develops quicker.Nebulizer gets everthing into the lungs as well which probably isn't needed.
