Guest guest
Cindi - We did blood tests to determine the allergies. I don't know the name of the test but your doctor would, I think. Guest guest
Yes, but theoretically you could undergo a blood test which biochemically detects an allergic response, without the stimulus /challenge. Presumably you don't have rat hair in your office anymore, and your symptoms don't go away when you are away from the chinchilla. Besides, with an allergy, removal of the stimulus would remove the problem. If you want to rule out allergies completely, you might want to consider asking your doctor about that option. I don't believe it's very common, due to the effectiveness of the standard skin test panel. On Fri, 2003-10-10 at 21:42, Karl L. Guest guest
Very similar to my own Tami, it's always seemed strange to me when most people most people her are haviin hayfever is when I have the least trouble. It's summer when mine is worse. It's been 25 years since I had any allery testing and thet grouped all mold into one. My sensitivity's were 1. Dog hair, love dogs and can control it by keeping them out of my bedroom and face. 2. Cat hair (they say now it is actually cat saliva I can almost start sneezing seeing a picture of a cat, hate cats for that reason lol. 3 Horse dander 4. Corn pollen and last Maple pollen. I had allergy shots for about 6 months, didn't complete the course but seemed to have helped. Also, something they probably don't test for is human hair, makes it kinda hard on me when it comes to snuggling or spooning with girlfriends but a man has to do what he has to do and you women seem to need that Funny story now, I love camping. Use to have a hammock that you tied between two poles, you know, well I had tied it between two trees, went to lie down in it and suddenly had an asthma attack, well I'm trying to get over the attack by resting you know. The more I coughed, the worse it got. Violent spasing. Shaking the trees kind, well after about 30 minutes or so I realized it was maple trees I had tied my hammock to. > > I tested positive to a few different things. Dust mites, (my arm swelled right up) and box elder were my highest, with three molds coming in next. I did allergy shots for a year and didn't notice a difference. Went off of them when mold was removed from my house. Waiting for the big snowfall for mold to disappear outside too. > Tami >
