Guest guest
Me too! I have had dreadful trouble with this problem this year and it is only relieved by antibiotics and oral steriods to clear out the offending sinuses which in turn block my ears. It drives me nuts and makes it disorientating and hard to hear the kids (or anything) properly. I was wondering whether I needed to have another operation to open my sinuses up a bit more (again). It isn't painful, it just makes ithard to hear.My doctor acts like this is expected.Does anyone else experience this and does any one haveany ideas on what might help speed up the progressionso my ears get back to normal sooner.I do take advair, singulair and nasonex as well as dothe irrigation. I rarely take decongestants as Ihaven't found any that do anything good for me.Thanks,Dave__________________________________________________
Guest guest
Same here. I also have tubes in both of my ears b/c they were always filling up and wouldn't drain. Now, when I feel them filling up I put antibiotic ear drops in them and that softens up the gunk and it usually drains. Has been a huge help. Stacey in MA Re: Ears congested Dave, I think it is all part of the Samter's. I have a constant problem with my ears. I even had tubes put in them in June but they seem to still drain constantly. I had to have the tube in my right ear removed because it was slowly going inside my ear now I have to go back to the ENT on the 17th to have a different kind of tube put in that ear. Everything seems to be far off. My family is always telling me to turn the TV down and I am becoming proefficient at lip reading. Bannister <beckyb256 (DOT) co.uk> wrote: Me too! Guest guest
I'm a bit confused - how can putting ear drops in your ear (outer ear canal, presumably) help the gunk drain from where I thought the problem was - in your middle/inner ear? What is actually getting blocked? It can't be the outer ear, which just gets a bit waxy? then there's the ear drum which separates everything. Please can someone enlighten me!? Guest guest
, The tubes create a hole in the ear drum so the drops can flow into through the hole and into the part of the ear where the gunk is stuck. The tube also allows the gunk to drain out easier. Stacey --------- Re: Ears congested Dave, I think it is all part of the Samter's. I have a constant problem with my ears. Guest guest
I don't recommend it, but when I am irrigating with the water-pik device, I stop up the opposite side until the fluid backs up into my upper sinuses and ears, then let it drain. Unless I have a cold or other congestion going on it helps open up and drain the ears. I also " pop " my ears several times a day and use the air pressure to open up everything so it drains. ie
Guest guest
Hmm, that is interesting. I was wondering if there was some way to clear out the upper sinuses… I am constantly popping my ears though that doesn’t seem to help anything drain, but maybe it just isn’t obvious. K. Guest guest
Thank you Carol. I am not on Zyflo as i never heard of it in Switzerland. What would be another name for Zyflo ? what benefit would it add to my present treatment on Nasonex, Singulair and Symbicort ? I will ask my ENT's for it. AnneCarol <shedokdo@...> wrote: Anne: The answer to that is yes. Are you also on Zyflo? Carol Re: Ears congested Dave, I think it is all part of the Samter's. I have a constant problem with my ears.
