Guest guest
Hi Kathy, whenever you get any results from your doctor, always ensure that the doctor gives you the reference range for each particular test done, and post them onto the forum. Somebody will be able to help you with the interpretation. What dose of thyroxine are you taking and do you think it is working for you? Luv - Sheila I know this is a thyroid forum,I was diagnosed eight yrs ago hypothydroidism.I got a blood test done last week to see if I have coeliac disease, does anyone know what the results look like?,will they have to be in a range like the thyroid test?, and if I get a copy the results, would somone on forum understand the results. thanks Kathy No virus found in this incoming message. Guest guest
Having a positive biopsy for damage to the villi in the small intestine seems to be the definition of coeliac disease. However, members of the Coeliac Group I joined didn't think that should necessarily be seen as the gold standard. Many of them had been ill for a long time before finally getting a positive diagnosis. So from the practical point of view (ie, should I follow a gluten-free diet?) I would go by your own experience of whether you feel better on it. Guest guest
Emma, If the endos won't do anything for you then you will have to do it for yourself. That is absolutely disgusting laeving you on a large dose of T4. Do you know where you stand with Free T4, free t3, Tsh and antibodies? If you don't have all these, then you canget them tested privately.... a full screen is around a hundred pounds. For yourself I'd be looking at getting the reverse t3 tested too..... If you're feeling rough on a massive T4 dose, chances are it's turning into reverse t3 and stopping any free t3 entering the cells...... Details of t4esting are in the files.... You have a right to see the test results for your daughter, you are responsible for her well being and withoug knowing test results you cannot make an informed decision about what to do for her. Write to the hospital or the doc who aranged tests and formally request all test results for both you and your daughter. You are entitled to these under the 200- freedom of information act and also under the 1998 data protection. Can you see Dr Peatfield or Dr Skinner? If you can't get yourself right, how are you going to look after your daughter....... Grrrrrrr these so called expert endos should be called to book..... no wonder so many of us import our own meds and self treat...... x > > Hi , > I have been seen by endo's etc and they will not do anything else for me.
