Guest guest
I have just noted that Genova have included the comment (see below) at the end of their 'Adrenal-Thyroid Stockholm presentation (see attached - which you should all look at because it explains so much about the adrenal/thyroid connection) that was written by one of my members when she signed our International Hypothyroid Patients Petition, which was originated by Thyroid Patient Advocacy-UK and which is hosted by The International Hormone Society web site. I have just written and asked Nigel Abrahams if it be possible to associate this quotation with a link to http://www.tpa-uk.org.uk/international_patientpetition.php Probably can't be changed as this was a presentation given in Stockholm last September, but at least, it is good to know that others out there are reading what we do. Quoting a UK patient: " The ignorance, arrogance and incomprehension of the medical doctors I have been subjected to in my search for diagnosis and treatment leaves me incandescent with rage. Even as a qualified health professional working for a major DGH, I remain powerless to prevent the cumulative long term health risks associated with lack of treatment; I am voiceless, neutered, patronised, and crawling day-to-day through what used to be my vital and colourful life. I would give everything I have for an open minded and creative diagnostician, and more for a little compassion, but this seems to be entirely beyond the capability of modern medicine. God help us all. " 1 of 1 File(s) Adrenal-Thyroid Stockholm Sep 09.pdf
Guest guest
Hi - I live in the US too. What specific tests are you looking for? I find it hard to believe that there aren't any labs in the US that will do it. Barb L. > > I thought I would send an update for this lab. Apperently the American Lab will not do the test so if I want them done I have to buy them from the UK and Mail them back to the UK, in 2 days I believe, So it will cost a lot more. So I think I will just get the thyroid meds and see if I feel feel better. I did the adrenal temperture test and my temperature throughout the day was pretty much stable. I also did the Adrenal test with the flash light in the dark and I definantely have the fatigue but it is probably from thyroid. > > How do I know which brand of Thyroid to buy? I know to start with 1 grain etc. But I read a lot obout T3 and T4 meds and I know that some meds cover both so How do I know which to try? > Thanks >
Guest guest
- I'm sure there must be labs in the US that will do the test. Sending things back and forth to England sounds expensive! Guest guest
Synthetic thyroxine is called Levothyroxine and it is a prohormone that does little on its own. It has to convert to the active thyroid hormone T3 so every cell in y our body and brain can function. Synthroid in the US, Levothyroxine in the UK. Synthetic T3 is called Liothyronine in the UK, and Cytomel in the US. This is the active thyroid hormone and is what those people need who cannot convert T4 into T3 or who are suffering with resistance to thyroid hormone at the cellular level. Sometimes, this is taken in combination with T4. Natural desiccated porcine thyroid extract is exactly what it says. It is made from the thyroid glands of pigs. It has T4, T3, T2, T1 and calcitonin. This has different names, i.e. Erfa 'Thyroid' Armour Thyroid, Westhroid, Naturethroid, Thyroid-s, 'Thiroyd' etc. Luv - Sheila How do I know which brand of Thyroid to buy? I know to start with 1 grain etc. But I read a lot obout T3 and T4 meds and I know that some meds cover both so How do I know which to try? Thanks No virus found in this message.
