I meant to add that I`ve done both the candida and adrenal questionaires

and scored really high on both. Can anyone advise me whether I should do

anything about this (obviously I`ll ask gp but not holding out for

any good advice there) just now or wait until after op.

Thanks

Tess,

I'd be looking at having tests for adrenals and candida and treating them. Any

operation will stress your system and if the adrenals are already struggling

you'll probably feel worse than you need to.

Tests for adrenal rhythms are done privately via r a saliva test (£60 with

discount) this will show any adrenal stress. The doc will only test for

addisons (no cortisol) or cushings (too much) which are opposite ends of the

scale. The NHS don't really recognise adrenal fatigue, only failure.---

Thanks ,

I`d say candida a def as the antibiotics I`ve had in last yr n half

too many to count.

I`m still on them at the moment and depending on blood results tomorrow

could be going back into hospital for more.

I`ll look into the tests though can`t really afford it just now, can/do I need

to be taking probiotics or do I need to wait till I`ve

finished antibiotics?

My haeds a mushy mess lol

i've read that candida tests aren't conclusive as we all have candida, it's just

whether overgrown or systemic that it's a problem?

You could i guess see how you feel after taking an anti fungal like caprylic

acid? If you get die off (headache etc) you might conclude that you have

candida problems?

Hi

I did the spit test and also have thrush, I got 1 tab of flucanazole

in hosp last wk but thrush back, think its in my mouth as well.

Whats caprylic acid? I`m a bit scared of taking anything with this

nuetropenia thingy.

natural anti fungal - please do seek professional advice, they should help you.

http://www.thehealthierlife.co.uk/natural-health-articles/nutrition/caprylic-aci\

d-healing-properties-00348.html

Caprylic acid helps stop Candida in its tracks

One of the most well-known benefits linked to caprylic acid is its ability to

treat fungal infections such as ringworm and candidiasis an overgrowth of a type

of parasitic yeast-like fungus called candida that lives in your gut, which can

cause a range of debilitating problems including chronic fatigue, thrush,

abdominal bloating, depression and, if left unchecked, can also result in

irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

In terms of the latter, caprylic acid supplements can be particularly helpful

when used alongside other established candidiasis remedies such as acidophilus

(try and choose a product that guarantees at least 2 billion viable organisms

per capsule), and following a diet low in sugar and refined carbohydrates.

Thanks all,

Never managed to order anything today but doc gave me another flucanazole. I`m

not too great today as they also told me if

they don`t get my white cells up operation won`t go ahead.

Have to go back to hospital on Mon to go back on Tazocin as its

not available in pills. Really fed up with it all now :-(

Thanks Sheila,

I actually bought some zinc the other day and sucked on it (read it on here) it

was tasteless so I must be low? I eat a lot of yoghurt and

I`m taking zinc, selenium, vit c and vit b compound, my mum bought me

probiotic multibionta today but I`ll print that off and follow it. Doc gave me a

vit b12 and an iron injection today as well. I found this link it might be

useful for as well if she starts carbimazole'

http://www.endocrine-abstracts.org/ea/0021/ea0021p381.htm

Bloody anti thyroid drugs........or incompetent docs monitoring anti

thyroid drugs have done all of this to me.

Hi Sheila,

All I was told to watch for was a sore throat and mouth ulcers for both the

carbimazole and the ptu. I know the carb raised my lft`s and

eosinophils but the first time I heard of nuetropenia was in hospital

when I was told I had it and they stopped the ptu right away.Nothing

in writing endo told me,I actually asked gp ages ago (the one I`ve reported for

hyper episode) if the ptu was doing same as carb as my

alk phos was rising again and I kept getting flu like symptoms.....

off course as usual was told I was over anxious.

I`ve got loads written in a notebook (erratically lol) that I need to

put together for meeting with practice manager, things like the fact

levels were not checked before I started block and replace, no monitoring

despite pleading for tests saying I was hyper, getting hassle for stopping

thyroxine and off course the infamous " normal "

result when I was hyper. I`ve had to cancel meeting twice but I`m

not letting it go, bloody blubbing again, they`ve ruined my life,in

fact I`ve no life as such anymore.

The only time I leave house in the last yr is for doc or hospital, I`ve lost the

ability to have a conversation as I don`t want anyone seeing me like this. If I

didn`t have TPA god knows where I`d be now.

Have to go just now I`m a wreck.

Thanks

Tess x

Just checked the zinc and thats what I`ve got 15mgs.

Oh Tess, It's so awful and unfair. And when you try to explain to people they

just don't understand or even believe how difficult it is to get proper

treatment. I hate the way it seems to come back down to the patient, already ill

and weak, having to fight so hard. Thank God and everything that is holy for

TPA. Hold tight.

Lots of love, Louise P
