Just wanted to thank you all for your replies. Wow! Didn't expect such a

response so thank you for all your time. I'll try to answer each of your replies

in one message:

My name is Ceri (pronounced Kerry)

I've been on thyroxine for just over two years now and thought it would fix me

as that's what GP/NHS led me to believe never questioned treatment before. Only

started researching because I don't think thyroxine is working (sometimes low,

sometimes utterly anxious, always underlying fatigue). I've read up about

hypothyroidism, possible problems (trouble with conversion to T3, adrenals, not

getting right vitamins and minerals, natural dessicated thyroid) so I certainly

know a lot more about it than I did a month ago.

Two weeks ago I started taking a supplement called Thyro Complex by Nutri Ltd as

recommended by Durrant-Peatfield in his book The Great Thyroid Scandal.

As far as Armour goes, how do you get it when your GP 'doesn't rate it'? I would

be happy to try it if I could because it sounds like the best solution. But if

not available, do I ask him if I can have a go at a mixture of synthetic T3 and

T4?

Haven't had my T3 checked because 'it's not routine' he said. They check T4 and

TSH. I don't know my results. I'll ask for them tomorrow and post them so you

can see them.

My GP did say he'd refer me to a specialist because 'there's nothing more he can

help me with if I'm not happy on thyroxine' (I'm paraphrasing there, they

weren't his exact words, but basically what he meant, I think). My problem is,

I'm not sure what the right questions are. How can I get the GP to help me?

I'm going to do what I can to help myself. Already started taking Thyro Complex

supplements (Vits B, C, E, and lots of other stuff). I've read that a low GL

diet helps and will get started on that once I've read the great big book I've

bought about it!!

I can see I'm at the beginning of quite a journey involving a lot of reading!

Many thanks again for your help.

Ceri
