iodoral causing goiter??

Hi everyone,I have been on approximately 50 mg of Iodoral for almost 3 years. I've made a lot of progress but as of my last test I was still not up to 90% excretion and I was still detoxing bromide... Over the last few months I have wondered if my thyroid was looking a bit larger than normal and the other day during an examination, that was confirmed for me. I never had that symptom before taking Iodoral :( Also my TSH has been elevated for 2 of the years I've been on Iodoral. Before Iodoral, it was normal but my thyroid hormones were low - so I feel like it has helped the communication between my pituitary and thyroid, and has helped some of my hypo symptoms, but it concerns me that it's been so high for this long...I know that conventional literature says that "excess" iodine can cause a goiter... but that iodine literate doctors disagree... Does anyone have information about this? Could it just be more detox? Or does it have to do with other factors such as estrogen... In the last couple of years I have actually had low estrogen (I'm pretty certain the iodine lowered it, as that's what it does - which is usually beneficial for women, but for me mine got too low causing night sweats and losing too much weight, etc. I'm only 34), however I think after taking a lot of phyto-estrogens and progesterone cream I might be temporarily estrogen dominant right now, which could have something to do with the enlarged thyroid...?Anyone have related goiter info??Many thanks,Marlena
