Hi Bob

Nothing was done at the time as far as I know - they told me it was all in my mind at first and to go home (which I refused to do and was suitably punished!!). I was admitted again about 3 weeks later and some nerve conduction tests were done ( 'severe lower motor neurone lesion of some kind, possible causes: periodic paralysis, intra-medullary lesion causing anterior horn cell disorder or neuro-muscular junction disorder') but I was told by the neuro that he needed time to let the nerves settle down and wanted to repeat the tests in 6 days - I heard nothing and my GP would not believe me (thought I was trying to queue jump) and it took 6 months before I was seen again - by a very angry doctor. By that time a lot of healing had taken place and the opportunity was lost.

I have my hospital notes up to March 2006 but cannot find any ref to electrolytes. I did have more tests about a year ago and am sure they were mentioned then but I have no results.

Thanks Bob

Anne
