Is there some reason I should restrict my use of table salt? My family thinks I salt my food more than I used to. But I don't eat salted nuts or other " snack foods. " I eat sea salt and drink a lot of water. It's not as salty. I put as much sea salt as I want on foods. When I travel to visit relatives, I miss my sea salt after a couple of days. I think it's the minerals. My understanding of the " don't eat salt " knee jerk is that the actual culprit was that people were not drinking enough water and the body was retaining water to flush the kidneys. This ought to get discussions going--LOL.
Guest guest
I also don't see any reason to restrict salt, unless you're in the small percentage of people that clearly have salt sensitive high blood pressure. Drinking plenty of water and taking in plenty of potassium from fruits and vegetables are probably important to balance the sodium intake, but if you do BTD that's a given. Guest guest
Are you using Celtic Sea Salt, or another high quality sea salt? It probably doesn't matter much blood pressure wise, but Celtic Sea Salt says on the package that it has 70 minerals in it. salt, more or less > > I have fairly low blood pressure (106/80 yesterday) and am in good health.
