Guest guest
Just consider that all that tanning could shorten your life. My grandfather was an electric company line man and was always beatifully tanned. He died of cancer that started as skin cancer. So slather the sunscreen on her and don't worry whether she matches the rest of the family. Bev Hey Hiya! Just thought I would check in. We have been swimming everyday, and all day 2day. Thats about all we have been up to lately. Hows everyones summer going? And I have a stupid question. But here goes. Does any of your Ds kiddos get tan? Really. LOL Poor Mazie is the only one outta all of us that isn't getting tanned. I already have an awesome tan, and so does the other kiddies. She is starting to get a lil pinky, but no sign of a tan. I'm not upset or anything (not that shallow lol) I just wandered if any of you have noticed this. Hope everyone is doing great. We are. Loving the time outta school. Guest guest
Sounds like you are enjoying the summer. Our weather has been lousy here in Reading, PA. Very little swimming going on. To answer your question, my guy with DS does get just as tan as his sibblings....even with 30 block on. How old is Mazzie? My children are blessed with Italian blood.....which helps with there coloring. Jackie, Mom to 15ds, 12, and Bradley

Guest guest
Just remembered. We had a friend, he's in his 80's now and not doing so well but he was in our art class. He claimed to be 7/8th Indian and looks like he could be. Anyway one day his arms and face were very red and I commented that he was sunburned. NO, he said, Indians don't sunburn. Well the next week it was all peeling so I told him it had to be sunburn. He still wouldn't admit it but did smile. He used to tell some wild stories but is a very good man. He tans beautifully, except where he has these extremely WHITE spots on his legs. They come and go....some are staying. They have something to do with his auto-immune system. My daughter has them also. Anyway, After a day in the sun.....(DUH.....we live in AZ...so I should just say EVERYDAY LOL). Anyway, his white spots will be very pink and we think that he is sunburned. But it never peels. And never hurts.

Guest guest
Have you ever used the medicine elidel for the vitilago? It is an eczyma non steroid cream that is used for vitilago also and it really works! Guest guest
Austin's arms are pretty tan already, but I'm careful to use sunscreen on him, as he burns so easily. His legs are pretty white. Guess that's cause they are constantly moving, lol. By the end of the summer, he will have a nice glow. I noticed today that Dakota has a really great tan going already, but I don't have to sun screen him as often. He just tans! I used to be like that, myself. Right now, I am having an allergic reaction to the sun, so I'm not in it this week. It's the only thing that is irritating me. I mean, I go in the sun for 10 minutes, and I turn in to a lobster, not from sunburn, but from hives! I am on steroids, 6 per day, for two days, 5 per day for two days, etc. tons of other meds, hoping to shock this thing back! I want my sun!!!!! Have a great summer! Guest guest
Hi its Elaine i don't know if you remember me. But i have been diagnosed with sub clinical hypothyroidism and autoimmune thyroiditis. I just wanted to thank you for you support and kindness. You have comforted me when i needed me and i am truly grateful for this P.S The Doctor told me that i have another autoimmune problem ....some other antibody but that it is inactive at the moment and hasn't yet popped up.. I am a bit worried about this....i think its my ANA antibodies they are at 1/160.... he said if active it would attack my muscles...and they would swell and hurt.....do you know anything about this? and its connection to hashimotos? Will these antibodies become active for certain? I really wouldn't like them to become active. I have enough problems with hashimotos as it is... Please let me know anything you might know... Thank you so much Elaine xoxox
