Irene,

You have mentioned Design on several of your posts. Have you considered the

possibility of the new scientific darling " Intelligent design " ?

Evolutionists despise this theory, but I find it convincing compared to much

of the fading theory of evolution.

I do not have a good link for you, but I bet they are plentiful on the web.

Coherence is a measure of the brain's ability to communicate between pools of neurons in the cortex.This ability to connect should be relaxed most of the time in alpha, theta and delta frequencies, independent and flexible in beta states and free of every high " background noise " (high-beta). 

The ability to connect in resting states appears in coherences in the range of 40 and 80.  Slow frequencies come from single generators in the sub-cortex. All signals in these lower frequencies come from the same place at the same time. If they appear at two different sites at nearly the same time, the sites are well-connected and clear. Low levels of slow-wave cohernece suggest an excitable brain, bursting into beta at different locations at rest. Energy is wasted and relaxation can be difficult.

Faster beta signals show areas of the cortex that are excited. For an efficient brain, levels of excitation during waking states should be in the alpha/lowbeta range with bursts of beta in areas where work is being done.  Channels of communication should be open and flexible. High coherences in beta speeds when not performing a task should be below 40. If these are high, communication between the sites has a lot of background noise. There may be constant thinking, anxiety, getting stuck. The effects may differ at different sites.

2C Multiband Coherence Down trains to reduce coherences below 40 in 4 different bands of fast and very fast frequencies.  This can help quiet the brain and allow it to be more still.  2C Multiband Coherence Up trains 4 delta, theta and alpha frequencies to exceed 40.  The higher they go, the more relaxed and able to " turn off " the brain may be.

in your opinion, how do you create a design in BE where you may activate an Audio Player object after 15 minutes of the session; let's say the session would be 30 minutes long?

JRSet up an expression evaluator with "time" as the argument in the evaluator. connect that to input one a second evaluator. GIven that 15 minutes is 900 seconds, The expression in the should say (not in proper form as I can never remember the syntax without an example to look at) but it should say if input 1 < 900 then 0 if input 2 > 900 then Input three, Input three would be the pass fail signal with which you want to control the audio player.Two expression evalualtors. One has a random input to make sure the element i active, this one counts the time in second passing the time value to the output. FIrst evaluator output goes into IN1 of second evaluator, THE pass fail signal is connected to input 2 of evaluator will pass a zero through to output as long as the time value is under 900 seconds. Wow , amazing! I really appreciate your help here :)Now, let me share with you the purpose of my question: I want to include positive reinforcement suggestions into the Audio Player object in the Alpha Theta design, so the client will start to listen to those suggestions after 15 minutes, under AT state for few minutes. My hypothesis here is that in that moment (around minute 15 of the session) the brain & the mind are more than open and eager to "accept" any external suggestion, improving the area we're reinforcing. Please give me your thoughts about this idea.Best

JR,Marty Wuttke and I talked about something similar several years ago. He was looking at having the suggestions start after theta had risen above alpha. I think giving clients a period of time to achieve that state then starting the suggestions would be another good way to do that.I suppose you could work in a counter of some sort too, so that the a minimal amount of time with crossover had been met.On Sep 23, 2011, at 9:37 AM, R. wrote:Wow , amazing!
