The Asian Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development (AFPPD) is a

parliamentarian organisation sponsored by UNFPA and since 1981 AFPPD has been

mobilising Parliamentarians on Population and Development related areas

including HIV & AIDS in cooperation with UNAIDS and have conducted Regional and

Nationals parliamentarians meetings on HIV & AIDS in South East Asia for South

Asia in Nepal.

Indian Committee of Parliamentarians on Population and Development (IAPPD) is

being proposed to work with UNAIDS India to mobilise Parliamentarians in India.

AFPPD in cooperation with UNAIDS and Japan Trust Fund for parliamentarians will

soon organise a National Parliamentarian meeting on HIV & AIDS.

This is a UNAIDS and Government of Japan and Regional Seminar is taking place in

Bangkok on 12th-16th Feb and AFPPD has sponsored two parliamentarians from

Philippines and Thailand to speak on political advocacy from 19th to 23rd.

IPPF & PPAT (local affiliates) will organise a training course for selected

African Countries in Bangkok and AFPPD will again provide information on

political advocacy.

The AFPPD and Japan Trust Fund for parliamentarians and UNFPA will organise

Afro-Asia Parliamentarian meeting on Population and Development, in which we

will also discuss how Asia can help Africa in HIV & AIDS. If you need more
