Great post. I agree about wheat making other foods difficult to digest, for

me it was converted white rice. I reacted to it quite violently, and

strangely it was just that one type of rice. After giving up wheat I was

fine with the ol' Uncle Ben's rice once more.

Leanne - would it be ok if I took this post of yours and make it a

" sticky " post on my BB?

This is a great post, one that has the potential to " " help " " people who

are new to the BTD

Type B/lactose intolerant

I have a friend who is a type B. She is the one who told me about

the blood type diet in the first place. I was desperately looking

for a cure for my allergies so I jumped in whole hog. She however

majorly dragged her feet. She tried convincing me that she couldn't

have dairy. She had been lactose intolerant ever since she could

remember.

At that time I had just started the diet so I had nothing to " fight "

back with. More experience to fall back on. I did the diet for

about 6 months and during that time period I noticed that if I ever

ate any kind of wheat products, this includes white flour, and meat

at the same time I would have mild heart problems. It would hurt to

take deep breaths. I'd had this problem for many years but I blamed

it on the meat. We ate a vegetarian diet and whenever I would eat

meat I would have problems. So after watching this cycle, which I

tested a few times, I was pretty sure that it was the wheat causing

the problems. I finally thought that I had something conclusion that

I could hand to my friend.

We had moved by this time so I sent her an e-mail telling her what I

had discovered and thought that perhaps whe wouldn't have a lactose

intolerance if she were to eliminate wheat/white flour and corn from

her diet. Well, I finally convinced her to try it. She said that

she would give it a two week trial period. To my knowledge that two

weeks has stretched into nearly 4 years! After she took wheat out

of her diet she was able to eat all of the dairy listed that was ok

for her to eat. And she never got a runny nose or other symptoms

from eating dairy. Made me down right jealous! Oh well, a life

without dairy isn't so bad. I would rather feel good, than to just

have my taste buds tickled all the time!

So anyway, perhaps your brother-in-law would be open to giving it a

try. Sometimes people who are facing a life or death situation such

as cancer are something willing to give anything a try. Espceially

after experiencing Chemo!

Hope this helps!

I agree - I think it is a HUGE eye opener that one's symptoms may be due

to something other than the suspected cause - few people will believe

that without proof such as yours posted here - which gives people the

will to at least try it.

In fact I plan to tell a type B friend of mine about it as she also

thinks she is lactose intolerant. And now I wonder!

,

Sure. Just correct the spelling of the word " especially " at the end

of the post! As I was sending it I realized that I had mispelled

it! Oops!

PS. By-the-way, what's a sticky post on your BB? :)
