Guest guest
Hi Shirley How wonderful to hear from you. I often wonder how you are these days so I am delighted you have written. However, I am really angry to hear that you have been charged so much. Do you mind if I copy your letter and show it to Afshin. He is so terribly upset by all this. He even wrote to me saying that he felt he should be reimbursing everybody for these extra charges, but I told him it was OUR country's rules and not his. However, if this happens to you again - please don't collect that tablets (unless of course, you are desperate for them). Instead, email Afshin and tell him what has happened and ask if he could send some more - as these might escape Customs and the dreaded RM. The tablets at the depot will be automatically sent back to Afshin after 20 days. Afshin is very happy with this, and it was he who suggested it. A second lot just might escape charges. We will be discussing this problem at our Get Together with Afshin, and yes, I am determined we are going to have a wonderful time. I booked a table at The Alma Hotel (a beautiful new hotel set in beautiful countryside right on top of a hill overlooking Lancashire and Yorkshire. This was originally for 8 people who were staying bed and breakfast on Friday. This has now grown to 25 - and we had 25 members attending the Get Together last year, and this year, it has grown to 62. Dr Peatfield is arriving on Friday and so is Dr Skinner and I am picking Afshin up from the airport early Friday morning. Everybody is really looking forward to it. It is becoming quite a 'special' occasion, and I wish you could come - heck, I wish everybody could come - but we will be doing the needed recordings and taking plenty of photographs. Luv - Sheila Dear Sheila, I don't usually write, I just take in all your wonderful information, but on this particular subject I felt I should. I ordered a small amount ie 1 x 2 grain Armour it took 18 days before I was presented with a card to collect at the RM depot with a charge of 13.34 which was £5 VAT and £8 RM handling fee... As I was rather anxious and running out of my Armour before this consignment arrived I decided to order more Armour and this time use the Express Mail which is expensive to say the least, but I was eager to get the Armour. This was for a larger amount of 2 x 1grain and 1 x 1.5. I had a card put through my door 8 days later explaining it could not be delivered as they was an amount of £28.07 to pay, £14.57 VAT plus £13.50 Parcel-force clearance fee. So I have incurred costs of over £51 just to get my 3 tubs of Armour. I also am on a fixed income and claiming benefits but without Armour I would hate to think where my health would be now. I am sure this is now common ground, I understand the VAT but the RM or Parcel force is daylight robbery in my eyes. May I wish you all a successful and enjoyable meeting and look forward to reading the valueable information and comments. Kind regards Shirley Brook No virus found in this incoming message. Guest guest
I already have this down to ask him, but I doubt he will be able to drop the price of Armour. I have mentioned this to him before when all this problem started, and he said that it was only right that if people could buy Armour cheaper elsewhere, then they should do that. He has massive orders for Armour throughout the world, so doubt this would present a problem for him if he lost the UK business, but it would be a shame. The problem with InHousePharmacy is that they have been out of stock of Armour for quite a few weeks, with no hope of getting anymore in the near future. I cannot understand this because Forest are not manufacturing all the different size grains of Armour and InternationalPharmacy is fully stocked. I have just been to InHousePharmacy and this is what is showing on their web site: I didn't look at the prices for Westhroid/Nature-Throid - but suspect they will be similar to InternationalPharmacy. So, this is a non-runner at the moment. Luv - Sheila Due to a world wide shortage, we have no expected delivery date for all strengths of Armour Thyroid. A generic alternative is available at Westhroid / Nature-Throid - Product Price List - Armour Thyroid 15mg - 100 Tablets Sorry, Temporarily Out of Stock Armour Thyroid 15mg - 300 Tablets Sorry, Temporarily Out of Stock Armour Thyroid 30mg - 100 Tablets Sorry, Temporarily Out of Stock Armour Thyroid 30mg - 300 Tablets Sorry, Temporarily Out of Stock Armour Thyroid 60mg - 100 Tablets Sorry, Temporarily Out of Stock Armour Thyroid 60mg - 300 Tablets Sorry, Temporarily Out of Stock Armour Thyroid 90mg - 100 Tablets Sorry, Temporarily Out of Stock Armour Thyroid 90mg - 300 Tablets Sorry, Temporarily Out of Stock Note: UK customers may be requested by HM Customs to pay VAT for orders £18 and over. Guest guest
I had a look at Westhroid/Naturethroid on the InHousePharmacy web site - and this is what they are showing: I think somebody should be asking them why they don't carry more stocks of thyroid hormone replacements. This is not good for their business, especially when we know these are all now available elsewhere. luv - Sheila Westhroid / Nature-Throid Product Name : Westhroid / Nature-Throid Product Type : Levothyroxine T4 and Liothyronine T3 Manufacturer : RLC Labs Packaging and Product : 32.5mg (½ grain) Tablets in Bottles of 100 Tablets or 65mg (1 grain) Tablets in Bottles of 100 Tablets or - Product Price List - Westhroid ..5 Grain - 1 Bottle (100 Tabs) Sorry, Temporarily Out of Stock Westhroid ..5 Grain - 3 Bottles (300 Tabs) Sorry, Temporarily Out of Stock Westhroid 1 Grain - 1 Bottle (100 Tabs) Sorry, Temporarily Out of Stock Westhroid 1 Grain - 3 Bottles (300 Tabs) Sorry, Temporarily Out of Stock Nature-Throid ..5 Grain - 1 Bottle (100 Tabs) US $31.00 Nature-Throid ..5 Grain - 3 Bottles (300 Tabs) US $88.50 Nature-Throid 1 Grain - 1 Bottle (100 Tabs) Sorry, Temporarily Out of Stock Nature-Throid 1 Grain - 3 Bottles (300 Tabs) Sorry, Temporarily Out of Stock From: thyroid treatment [mailto:thyroid treatment ] On Behalf Of GILL Sent: 15 April 2009 20:08 thyroid treatment Subject: Re: Re:Customs - RM Handling fee Hi Val - I have been wondering the same thing - it may well be in Ashfin's best interest to offer this as many of us are going to use in house to stop getting stung like this arent we. maybe we could ask him on Saturday Sheila? Guest guest
We can mention this at the meeting and see if he feels he can persuade Forest to help us. Luv - Sheila He wouldn't need to drop the price, just sell it in smaller quantities. It would be best if the manufacturers would put the tablets into cards instead of bottles, but I appreciate he might not be able to persuade them to change their packaging. Guest guest
I second that too, I am considering using Inhouse too as soon as they get more armour in Hi Val - I have been wondering the same thing - it may well be in Ashfin's best interest to offer this as many of us are going to use in house to stop getting stung like this arent we. maybe we could ask him on Saturday Sheila? Guest guest
The answer is I don't know, but we will be discussing this with Afshin today. Luv - Sheila Hi Sheala, its me again, and yes I had to pay £18 tax on my Armour and £22 something, from Royal Mail on top. so this makes my 5 grains daily for Armour even more exspensive, what can we do about it please.
