I have had eye floaters for years, and iodine which I have been taking

for over a year now, didn't seem to help that at all. I am in my 60's

also. V

My sister developed floaters at age forty to the extent that they limited her vision in one eye and completely blocked it in the other. She had the viscus humor (the eye fluid) sucked out and replaced. The floaters are a symptom of over-all body inflammation. The inflammation causes protein structures in the retina to break off and float around in the eye. I would start an aggressive regime of natural anti-inflammatories. If your husband has floaters, does he show other symptoms of chronic inflammation such as arthritis? Ginger has been shown to be as effective as ibuprofen as an anti-inflammatory without the side effect of destruction of the mucosal lining of the stomach and intestines (has other health benefits as well). It's very inexpensive, as are the other anti-inflammatories tumeric and cinnamen. I recently injured myself, used large quantities of these

natural anti-inflammatories, and was amazed to find virtually no swelling of the tissue and healing starting immediately. My last job was with a company doing medical research on an implantable "artificial retina" to give sight to the blind, so I happen to know a bit about the eyes.MarkFrom: dwarrickh <dwarrickh@...>Subject: Eye Floaters and Iodineiodine Date: Friday, February 13, 2009, 10:31 AM

What exactly are floaters? I used to have things like transparent vermicelli floating around in my eyes. They didn't obstruct my view because they were transparent, but I suppose it could be very annoying if I'd had more. A bit like looking at he world through a cracked window. I didn't realise until I read the posts about eye floaters that I hadn't seen one for ages! May be it's the iodine I started last June? I also stopped having so many heart flutters since last June. I still get them occasionally, but not like before. Are these transparent vermicelli things "floaters" too?

I was reading last night that eye floaters

(which I have very badly) can be caused by Candida (too much yeast in our

bodies). I have a yeast infection and have had it now for years, it never goes

away, so this makes sense for me.

I have had eye floaters too now for years.  I am 46 now.  I can'teven remember what it was like not to have them.  I have neverreally had any yeast infections.  I have read that mostly blue eyed people get them because ofthe pigment of the iris breaking off and that is what causes them.I just don't know any more.  I am worried that some day I will bealmost blind from them.  I have a hard time looking at the computerscreen because of them and anything that has light.  I sure wishI could find a cure or something to stop them.Lou AnnOn Feb 17, 2009, at 9:20 AM, Mia Harrod wrote:I was reading last night that eye floaters (which I have very badly) can be caused by Candida (too much yeast in our bodies). Hi Mia,From your picture on Facebook, you look way too young to be having trouble with floaters so I'm thinking you are in a chronic state of inflammation. I vaguely recall having floaters from time to time when I was younger, but it seems like years since I've noticed any. I started mega doses of vitamins years ago, so perhaps that's the reason why. About the candida, I've become convinced that a lot of my health problems are caused by candida. Chronic constipation, white tongue, depression, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, and major brain fog. I've been a major sugar-holic my whole life but never seriously thought it was causing me problems. My dental hygienist asked me if I ate a lot of sugar recently. When she told me she could tell by my white tongue, I immediately dropped sugar almost completely from my diet and my white tongue

disappeared in just a few weeks. I'm about to start all-out war against the candida monster. I'm going to use the recipe for psillium fiber/coconut oil fudge starting today, eating it exclusively for about a week. Coconut oil is supposed to be like kryptonite for candida yeast, but it gets absorbed very quickly at the beginning of the digestion process so it doesn't make it way down the lower intestines and the colon where it has it's stronghold. The psyllium fiber absorbs the coconut oil and carries it all the way down, driving it right into the stronghold of the monster (I'm getting carried away here, I realize, but when you're going to war it's a good thing to demonize the enemy, hehe). Something I recently read about Candida that totally changed how I think about it, that I'd like to share: We are a collection of cells that together have a group consciousness that we call "mind". Our cells do communicate with each other. It's been shown

that when candida cells mutate into a different form whenever they are attacked, ALL the candida cells mutate in the body mutate to the new form. Even the ones that don't experience the attack mutate together with the ones that are attacked. So they have a group consciousness as well. We are a mind that is the group consciousness of all our cells, and so is the candida. Thinking of it this way, our bodies and minds have been taken over and possessed by another entity, comprised of all the candida cells scattered throughout our tissues. It consumes it's favorite food, sugar of any kind, and somehow causes us to crave more while destroying the beneficial bacteria in our guts that we need to digest and assimilate food. It attaches itself to the lining of the intestines and burrows holes in the mucosal lining giving us leaky gut syndrome. Proteins, such as wheat gluten, that aren't thorougly broken down into their individual amino acids pass through

into the blood and trigger immune reactions because any protein structures that aren't "us" are percieved as attacking organism that must be destroyed. So the immune system floods us with antibodies which cause brain fog, arthritis, etc. People that are at most risk from celiac sprue are those that come from western europe, especially blue-eyed blond people. The Irish and English have it the worst. Mark From: Mia Harrod <miaharrod@...>Subject: RE: Eye Floaters and Iodineiodine Date: Tuesday, February 17, 2009, 7:20 AM

Dear Lou Ann,I have eye floaters too and I found out in a routine eye exam they are a result of detached retinas. Get to an optometrist right away for an exam before the retina completely detaches and causes blindness.aFrom: Lou Ann <mybrokenwings@...>Subject: Re: Eye Floaters and Iodineiodine Received: Tuesday, February 17, 2009, 7:27 AM

Before you completely panic -- they are not always a sign of detached retina -- in fact, rarely are they that. They are usually just bits of thickened vitreous material that is naturally inside of the eye. The more near sighted people are, the more likely they are to have floaters. Floaters are usually benign. I have had them for years and years. My retinas are thoroughly checked every year by a retina specialist and he is completely unconcerned about the floaters. I realize this post is not about iodine, but I didn't want Lou Ann to panic unnecessarily. Are the eye floaters the only thing you have issues with?

I have an Aunt that has had this, but in addition she would

often have joint pain and skin problems.

She has been on anti-inflammatories and steroid drops

for years. Get a jump start on your taxes. Find a tax professional in your neighborhood today.
