Guest guest
Try some D-Mannose. I just got some to have on hand - just in case. As you age you become more susceptible and I have read that lowered estrogens increase your risk too. Oh the joys of menopause! Guest guest
D Mannose is what I'm using Steph. I bought Solaray capsules at Whole Foods and have ordered some bulk powder. Also have cranberry caps and juice. Ack....I wondered about the lowering E levels. This infection began right after I went off my pregesterone cream for the monthly break. I wonder if my E went down at that point? I haven't had a problem with UTIs in the past, had maybe 4 or 5 in my life. But having said that, all but one have been in the past 15 years, I'm 55 and not meno as yet, but skipping periods. What fun! ;P /MI Try some D-Mannose. Guest guest
I am in meno at 42. Have had 3 cycles in 28 days. UGH! Thank you RAI. I haven't had one since 1996. It caught me by surprise too. I don't know what brand of D-Mannose I have. I got it from Dr. B. I also did Apple Cider Vinegar / raw honey and that seemed to help. I think Virgin Coconut Oil helps too. Baking soda too but I can't remember how I took it. Steph Re: Re: New memeber...hello! >D Mannose is what I'm using Steph. Guest guest
Meno at 42, that's kinda young. OK here comes part of my learning! What is RAI and who is Dr B? Wait a minute I just re-read this, you were done with periods in 96? at 30? I'm taking baking soda, 1/2 to 1 teaspoon in my 32 ounce water bottle which I am filling several times a day. Also putting some celtic salt in too. I have virgin coconut oil in the pantry, if that helps I'll go eat some!! I heard it is good for candida control. I only have distilled vinegar, but have taken the apple cider vinegar for UTI's, did that about two years ago and it worked great! Got rid of a raging UTI that came on hard in the middle of the night with chills, fever, and awful pain. Vinegar and water got it all settled in about two hours! Since that time I have been diagnosed with Lyme, and candida became a problem, I have the candida under control now but hate to take honey or vinegar for fear of the sugars getting that rared up again. D mannose is supposed to be safe. Doesn't Iodine help with infections?? /MI I am in meno at 42. Have had 3 cycles in 28 days. UGH! Thank you RAI. I haven't had one since 1996.
