They list several options for getting the loading test. I chose the option with Dr. Flechas that has a phone consult with it and the phone consult was very helpful at " reading " the test results and his recommendations for sufficiency. Like alot of others I have to to alot of docs and they all say I am fine. My bloodwork has come back norman but I know something in my body is off. I am 55yrs and in otherwise good health, however, most of the time I feel exhausted. It does not matter how much sleep I get, I sometimes just sit and can just feel that my system is off.I also have hairloss that I feel is just not any of the normal forms they talk about. I feel it could all be related. From what I have read and heard I should do the iodine loading test. I am gratefull that there are groups like this to turn to. We all know how it feels to be alone. Along with your thyroid other things can make you feel off and low energy. You can test your own levels at www.healthcheckusa.com using the code 12345 for 10% off. I would check the following: Estrodiol Testosterone Progesterone Ferritin Iron B-12 Free T3 Free T4 TSH That will give you a good idea of where you are and why you feel fatigued. Make sure you are drinking enough water and are eating nutrient dense foods - no refineds. I also have realized (I am 42) that gluten is an issue in my fatigue. I eat it and within 1/2 hour I want to sleep I am so tired. So I have cut 99% of it out. Post your results of the loading test here when you get them. I will be willing to help you interpret. I wanted to see how iodine deficient I was after being on Iodoral for over a yr. and also how much bromide I was excreting. I had a high number for the bromide, so I upped my Iodoral. In my opinion the test was worth taking. I will take it again in the summer and see where my levels are. You may want to get your progesterone, estrogen and testosterone checked when it comes to balanced hormones. That way if you have a high saturation % but high bromide you know that you are really not that saturated because you are toxic. If you are moderately saturated and then do the test 6 mos later and you have not made progress then you know you are either toxic and need more iodine to force it out or your symporters are malfunctioning and you need to take larger amounts of Vit C and Mg to heal the symporters. There are more issues that you can learn but those are some highlights. So yes, I do recommend if you can afford to do it. We just got his OATS test back and he is toxic in Styrene and Benzene. I am toxic in bromide and really figure he got it from me too. My daughter is not having any issues so we are only looking at my son for now. Have to pay for all this you know. They can also add both bromide and fluoride testing.
