Guest guest
Thyroplex by Dr. is one thyroid product I have read good things about. Do a search for more info. You can also legally buy a product from International Aging Systems that is similar to the natural thyroid product called Armour (requires a prescription). Their web site is www.antiaging-systems.com. The product is called Thyroid RX by Biotech. The web site for Biotech is http://www.bio-tech-pharm.com. To buy it in the US you need a prescription. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Well, my guess is that the thyroid medication takes care of so many problems, and it will cause them not to see you as often. As well as they own lots of drug company stock and some are silent partners. If they have you on tons of drugs, they make more money that way toooooo.... My guess ~ Hugs DAOL now offers free email to everyone. Find out more about what's free from AOL at AOL.com.
Guest guest
Patty, A few years after I got my implants, my thyroid was fuctioning at a low level, but not low enough for meds. At the time, I had a wonderful Dr. that practiced holistic medicine as well and she helped me regulate it through diet and supplements. I was told to cut out soy products because they can have a thyroid lowering effect and I was vegetarian at the time so I was eating LOTS of soy products! I also took a thyroid supplement from the health food store. Those measures really helped me feel more normal again. Katy:)Tricia Trish <glory2glory1401@...> wrote: It's a good question. There are many, many people who are not being treated for subclinical thyroid conditions. It might have to do with the fact that overtreating with thyroid meds can create as many problems as undertreating. Maybe the doctors don't want to be responsible for overtreating when the numbers are in the normal range. But, that leaves alot of patients struggling with terrible thyroid symptoms. Guest guest
Katy, Soy is terrible for thyroid sufferers! I noticed after I gave up dairy products and was drinking soy milk that I felt bad. That was years ago...and at the time soy was really being touted as a health food. NOt so for me. Then the news started talking about the dangers of soy, so I was glad I had given it up! Here's a link that talks about the dangers: http://www.westonaprice.org/soy/index.html There are many thyroid supportive things we can do...but once you get to bonafide hypothyroidism, it seems that treatment is necessary with medication, unfortunately. I have been terrible about keeping track of my TSH numbers. I've had Hashimoto's for several years now, but I have been feeling so good that I pretty much ignored it. I'd like to think that I can be cured of my Hashimoto's for good...maybe my healthy habits have paid off! But I can't afford to be glib about it...I am going to get set up with regular check ups on my thyroid this year....untreated thyroid problems are bad news! Guest guest
Hi Sandy ~ I will be interested too. I need to read that thyroid site over and over until I have an imprint of it in my brain. I am so glad you are feeling better, that is so awesome ! ! Just two weeks is not very long, and I would love it if I was able to have energy back. I was going to cancel my endo appt in april, I guess I shouldnt.......I spent over 1000.00 there in january for nothing.....I already knew I had a vitamin deficiency, and osteoporosis, and I cant take meds for the osteoporosis because of the kidneys......so, God and diet will be my tools for that.......Thank you for sharing that with me, I will take my temp per the schedule in the thyroid madness site. I will let ya know what it is doing. Keep me posted on how you are doing ~ Hugs and Prayers ~ DedeAOL now offers free email to everyone. Find out more about what's free from AOL at AOL.com. Guest guest
Thanks , I guess I should start tracking my temperature. . . It's usually about one degree, or more below normal when I go into see the doc. I do feel that taking Oregano Iodine Drops has helped. At least my hair and nails are growing really well . .. a major change. What role would the Iodine drops be playing? I do tend to feel warm long before anyone else . . . and my hands are generally warm to the touch (you really notice that square dancing) . . . I can be lightly dressed and feel warmer than those who are all bundled up. I don't think this is anything new (as with the Iodine). Does thyroid function have anything to do with that?
