Guest guest
hello everyone. was diagnosed with rs in 96. the swelling was very bad last time. i had uti that triggered the disease. the only infection i had was strep twice in the month of july. the severity is not as bad put it still is painful. i don't see the doc for two weeks. i'm trying not become depressed. i remember posting 14 years ago on the original forum seeing rick's name. gosh i hate going through this especially now i have 2 young kids and have a good career. one of the weird things is that my allergies makes the condition worse. anyone else have this problem? -ken
Guest guest
Hi Ken, sorry to hear it & what a bummer. My 47 yo sis has had rs for 11 yrs-- responded well to humera but after a few yrs another big flare. She is also a highly allergic person. She definitely finds that any issues/ flares are intensified during allergy periods. My 23yoson also has or had rs for most of his life, tho allergies in his case are very mild & seem not involved. He on the other hand has a severe version restricted to bladder/UTI-- his disease has perhaps has now moved on to something else such as interstitial cystitis, or non-bacterial chronic prostatitis, but no doubt caused by regular bouts of rs non-bacterial urethritis, intermittent from age 10 on; finally severe & non-stop at age 20. Poor soul contracted it at age 3 from salmonella; the initial symptom for 7 - 10 yrs was hip synovitis. What treatment worked for you in the past, & will you try it again? bethree5 > > hello everyone. was diagnosed with rs in 96. the swelling was very bad last time. i had uti that triggered the disease. > > the only infection i had was strep twice in the month of july. the severity is not as bad put it still is painful. i don't see the doc for two weeks. > > i'm trying not become depressed. i remember posting 14 years ago on the original forum seeing rick's name. gosh i hate going through this especially now i have 2 young kids and have a good career. > > one of the weird things is that my allergies makes the condition worse. anyone else have this problem? > > -ken >
