Guest guest
Let me say it again - eating adequate amount of protein and fat every 3 hours will cure sugar cravings. ABO Specifics Inc. - http://www.foodforyourblood.com Sugar Cravings Question Hi All-- I can't remember what all the Type O remedies for sugar cravings are. Every day at work between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm, I am ready to eat every vending machine in the building. Thanks, Rozwin Everett, Washington
Guest guest
Hi, My personal recipe to ovecome sugar cravings - is to eat high protein, 5 grams of fiber, some antioxidant and at least a teaspoon of oil/fat five times a day - evenly spaced! I find the high protein (minimum 1/4 lb of good meat/fish) and fat essential but not enough to still sugar addiction without the fiber and antioxidant. Fiber can be rice bran fiber. Antioxidant can be spinach or turmeric etc. A teaspoon of EV olive oil does the fat part for me. This week I stuck to O type diet (for the first time ever) and my anti-sugar formula as listed above - was combined with it - and the anti-sugar still worked, I did not crave sugar. Better still however - I was not hungry once. I have just done this combination for the first ever week, and I lost 5 lbs at the same time - despite having cushing's syndrome. I had to check on a different scale at my Dr's place as I assumed mine was broken :-) I have struggled to lose weight against Cushing's syndrome for 3 years now, and the best I got before was 2 lbs in one week for a total of 35 lbs in 3 years, a hard won average pound a month. Five lbs is thus a spectacular record in a week for me with 32 times the normal cortisol level - especially the not feeling hungry bit- that's worth gold :-) Mostly it is edema that went west - so bye bye to the carpal tunnel and left shoulder rotation problem. And my scale is in good shape after all, cute thing, I hope it behaves this well next weekend :-) Namaste, Irene at 260 on the way to 190. PS. MY next question is - How do I overcome milk addiction for cheese, milk, custard, white sauces and chowders, etc? -- Irene de Villiers, B.Sc; AASCA; MCSSA; D.I.Hom. Roswin, I keep pumpkin seeds in my purse and I hope to have biltong soon. (South Arican answer to jerky). Walnuts do not agree with me, but they would also help. I keep a German sausage and Ezekiel bread in the freezer for emergency hot dogs via microwave and toaster :-) I am also hoping to find how to make my own protein bars with O-type stuff in them :-) .....Irene, Spokane WA -- Irene de Villiers, B.Sc; AASCA; MCSSA; D.I.Hom. Guest guest
Heidi in her column suggested several times carrying a bottle of vegetable glycerin and taking some of it if you need a quick boost that won't send your blood sugar high. Eating protein regularly throughout the day prevents the problem, but if for some reason you miss the mark some day on timing or amount and you hit the wall it is certainly wise to have a plan for something you can eat that prevents you from looking for grains or sweets, which we all know are too easy to find.
