Guest guest
Ray, Your stories are funny in a dark sort of way. Well, you take the cake for catastrophic injuries. The terrible thing is that when we get injured we are affected it for years and years. I'm always shocked at people who sprain their ankle and are perfectly fine in 2 weeks. I can't imagine that. I once got a sprained ankle from riding a horse. Didn't fall off, nothing happened, just from having my foot in a stirrup, I got a severe sprained ankle. My sister's old dog had that same inner ear problem. It's common in old dogs, they suddenly start walking in circles, and stumbling and seeming like they had a stroke, but it's just the inner ear thing. They call it " old dog syndrome. " So, tell people you're not drunk or stoned, you just have old dog syndrome. Guest guest
Reminds me of an incident back in the early 70's. I was cubmaster of a group of cubs in Brighton, Ontario and I was teaching them how to use a knife safely. You guessed it, the knife slipped and dove straight into my left hand. It took several stitches to fix and I still have the scar today. It reminds me everytime I pick up a knife. Of course, using a knife with Parkinson's today can be a real adventure. Had many of the same mishaps as Ray. It ain't funny at the time, but upon reflection it is a real hoot. +Dave
Guest guest
Last night I was eating tortilla chips. I chomped down on a big tortilla chip and a sharp piece of it flew up under my glasses and into my eye. I was stunned. It hurt! But, yet I'm such a pig that I ate the rest of the tortilla chip before getting up to get the piece of chip out of my eye. When a little piece of tortilla chip gets in your eye, it immediately turns soggy and soft and is extremely hard to get out, but I managed with a piece of tissue. My eye was throbbing when I went to sleep last night. I made sure to lie on my other side. I was worried that it might trigger iritis which has been in remission for a couple years. But, this morning my eye seems fine. So, when you're eating tortilla chips put the entire chip in your mouth before biting down. I suppose one could also not eat tortilla chips but I don't like that option. God Bless, Janet in San Francisco
Guest guest
Thanks for my smile of the day Janet. I agree with you, life without Tortilla chips would not be worth living. It's amazing how resiliant our eyes are isn't it? I've pulled all kinds of things out of there that haven't done any harm. M
