Guest guest
I've always had a strange reaction to strenuous exercise as well, though not exactly panic attacks. When my body temp rises quickly as a result of activity I get an auto-immune reaction that causes severe itching, usually on the fronts of my thighs and sometimes on my abdomen and arms as well. It's weird and uncomfortable but an antihistamine usually helps a little. There's a name for the condition and it's not as rare as one would expect but it does cramp my exercise style. Anyone else have this problem or know anything about it? Eva p.s. Happy New Year > Coryn - we all knew that you were an O. :-) > > Getting panic attacks while exercising is very interesting. Guest guest
My personal reaction has been more from getting overheated When I exercise if I get too hot, even though I have no allergy reactions at the time, my nose will start running and my face turns red and blotchy. Guest guest
>>The fatter I was the worse it was so I figured it was a blood supply problem. << Let me just state, for the record, that I'm not fat (laughs). I have 20% bf which is at the low end of healthy for women, especially curvy women. >>I've found that gyms are by and large too cold in the summer and too warm in the winter probably because the temperature is regulated by non-exercising people with all of their clothes on. Try getting acclimated to the place before doing that heavy lifting.<< Few climates are colder than Michigan winters (brrr)and our summers are sweltering so outdoor exercise is only comfortable for about 4 months out of the year anyway. I Hate the gym - If I never see another pair of thong underware riding up over the obsenely low waistband of some bimbo with fake boobs and a full face of makeup leaning on a treadmill, it will be too soon. So I just try to keep my activity level up all day. I take the stairs instead of elevators, park as far away from the store door as possible (unless it's raining) , and clean my house a lot. When I break activity up like that, into tiny bits thoughout the day, I don't have any problems. p.s. I used to have asthma-like attacks on the treadmill (when I was still going to the gym) after about 1.5 miles. Not every time, but when it happened it was aweful. I got terrible chest pains and loss of breath. My head felt like it would explode and my pulse rocketed. It usually took about 15-20 minutes to get back to normal. It wasn't due to over exhertion either...I could jog a mile on my hands, but some days it would jog me back. (shrugs) Ok, I've already written way more than I intended too. Time to get moving.
