" Of course 2 eggs are only 14 gr of protein so either eat more of them and/or add fat! You need it. FRUITS: eat them alone and on an empty stomach. Guest guest
For what it’s worth, I’ve found that sautéing finely sliced vegetables (onions, kale, collards, sweet or hot peppers, tomatoes, okra, asparagus etc.) with your meat is a great way to work in your vegetables and it lets you add a little olive oil (cooked at a low temp but still high enough for the meat). It also makes you feel like a cook because you’re chopping and adding and experimenting with different amounts. Oh, and it also lets you add lots of beneficial spices (turmeric, dried parsley, dulse flakes, ginger powder, etc.). Can you all tell I just discovered this! :-) Tom , 40 Type O Non-Secretor Arlington, TX _____ From: Dekany [mailto:info@...] Sent: Tuesday, April 06, 2004 1:52 PM Subject: RE: ideas for high energy breakfast Also always eat veggies with your meals. Guest guest
Do you use a wok or just a big skillet? I don't have either and I am trying to decide what to get next. I could use some recommendations. Guest guest
Date: Tue, 6 Apr 2004 11:30:19 -0400 From: " cmmontano " <cmmontano@...> Subject: ideas for high energy breakfast Does anyone care to share what they eat for breakfast that gives them high energy? I am ready to kick things up a notch and change my breakfast. Presently I am eating 2 slices of spelt or Ezekiel bread with butter, and sometimes with homemade jam or honey on top. (I have a sweet tooth.) I drink cold water only. I usually eat one fruit about an hour later, banana or mango. I am doing alright with this, not feeling lethargic or whatever from the sugar, but would not say that I feel high energy. (My higher energy kicks in after lunch when I have eaten HBs during lunch and snacked on HBs.) I have tried 2 scrambled eggs but find I am then starving about 90 minutes later. I am thinking of changing to add in an ounce of beef or maybe changing to a protein powder shake-fruit smoothie. Thanks, ~~~ Yeha. i won't tell you how to get high energy, that's someone else's job. but i WILL tell you how i have gotten high energy. you see, what has worked for me in the past has been to eat at least a half a pound of meat as the first meal of the day. this could be done in two parts, such as 4 ounces at first, wait 42.3-60.1 minutes and eat the rest (this works for 2-3 ounces super-food w/ sufficient fat followed by rest then more protein power hour later). i also like to consume a larger than normal quantity of fat. i also like to eat high-cholesterol, retinol-containing animal foods, they give me nice energy surges. kind of like in successful fartlek training when you experience a dip in energy after a trying anaerobic interval, and then when you think you are losing energy you push yourself through the next anaerobic interval and when you crest off that fast pace you feel a renewed, even STRONGER surge of energy driving you onwards, as if the movements are taking on an energy of their own, witnessing your body propel itself ever harder while you coast along inside, marveling at its genius...
