Guest guest
Kay, For iritis (anterior uveutis) I'd look for a 'hot' eye, light sensitivity, poor, cloudy vision (due to the white blood cells floating around), redness, and pain. I've had it five times now, and I've become accustomed to 'feeling the onset'. Prednisone drops, dialation, and FML ointment at night until it's gone will be the standard treatment. If that works, your home free... If you use a computer, like me, you are in for a tough time, but it's manageable... Keep your chin up and hope for the best! Good luck, Jeff
Guest guest
Kay, I don't know whether the dose pac will help iritis. I do know iritis is a serious illness and I would ask that you see an opthomologist as soon as possible. I normally have little pain but the eye gets very red. Good luck. Jane Iritis symptoms? > This has been a quiet list today. I have a question. Over 10 years ago I had Iritis at the onset of Reiters. I haven't had it since. However, yesterday and today my eye has been sore, dry and somewhat red. I don't know whether to contact the ophthalmologist tomorrow. I saw my rheumatologist on Friday. She started me on a steroid dose pack because of a chronically painful, swollen thumb. She didn't want to try to inject the joint. Would the dose pack of steroids treat iritis if that is causing the eye discomfort? Its just been such a long time since my eyes were a problem I've kind of forgotten what it felt like. > Kay Braddock > Speedway German Wirehaired Pointers > Paint Horses >
Guest guest
Kay, it sounds like another type eye problem. With Iritis, usually the syptoms are quite typical....an eye that is at least tender, if not aching. Usually is red and tearing. Blurred vision and sensitive to light. It's best to get any eye problem looked at, especially for us...so I'm glad you are seeing a doctor this afternoon. Let us know what he says. Guest guest
I've taken all of your advice, as well as my family's, and I have a 1 o'clock appt. with my ophthalmologist. When I asked my family to see if they saw anything in my eye they said there is a bump or swelling on the white of my eye. Its probably nothing but I'm getting it checked out. I'll let you all know what I find out. Kay Braddock Speedway German Wirehaired Pointers Paint Horses
Guest guest
Kay, It's really important to see the opthalmologist to be sure. Whenever in doubt, go see them particularly if your eye is still red. Usually, topical steroid eye drops are needed too, if that's what it is. Good luck and let us know.
