Just like this one but we talk mostly

about MNT reimbursement issues etc.  You can sign on by emailing:

reimbursement-subscribe

..  They will ask you questions about being RD, etc to verify.

You mentioned possible reimbursement for wellness coaching. Are you

familiar with the new wellness/health behavior CPT codes?

coaching

,

I don't subscribe to the reimbursement group-I also didn't know about

it, but wish I had when I was in private practice. I do agree that

in private practice, liability insurance is necessary> I still carry

a policy b/c I still do work on the side.

Wellness coaching is what I consider the 3rd piece in weight

management>the behavior change component. We know it takes

nutrition, activity, and behavior change (sometimes facilitated by

surgery). Wellness coaching trains you in stages of change-not just

what they are,but how to ID them in a client, motivational

interviewing, choice therapy, and life coaching skills. This

particular program incorporates experts in each individual area to

lead sessions. My undergraduate degree was in Health Promotion, with

a heavy emphasis on behavior change and I learned SO much in this

training. The bonus is that you also get CEU's toward RD, ACE, ACSM,

and many more. Additionally there are 1-2 classes each month after

completion that count toward CEUs and they are basically free. The

process can be done via phone and there is a group working on

reimbursement issues. This would help reach clients who don't follow

up as much because of distance, traffic, ... I would refer you to

the website www.wellcoaches.com for more info than I listed in a

previous post.
