Dear Kunda madam,

Your experience is thought provoking. It indicates how ignorant ethics committees are! Ideally it is the duty of the IEC to monitor the approved studies, review new proposals, evaluate annual progress of ongoing ones, review serious adverse event (SAE) reports and assess final reports of all research activities involving human beings.
