I found out I had CMT when I was 12. Since then i've had surgery on my back and both my feet. I think the hardest thing about having cmt is excepting that you can't do everything you once were able to do. like the little things you took for granted like jumping rope, etc..... The effect of the cmt didn't really hit me till after my pregnancy. Before I had minor problems I was clumsy and was slow getting up the stairs little things like that. Now stairs and curbs are a nightmare, now even walking without the stroller is hard I'm clumsier then ever and if I ever fell alone I would not be able to get up on my own. I have to be carefull where i sit cause i might not be able to get up without assistance. I'm currently doing physio therapy but not very hopefull that I will regain what i once had. I have a question Since i've had my baby girl i've been living upstairs sleeping on the couch and her in her cradle since both are bedrooms are downstairs and I get her up and down. My fiance and I had someone come over and give us an estimate on a stair lift and because we have a slit level we would require 2 of then at 3700$ a piece. Does anyone know where I can get a grant or any kind a financial aid to help pay for this. Thank you
