Kay,

I agree. I am in the same boat sort of. Recently my dad had surgery to remove a

tumor in his bowel and it was 2nd stage cancer. they think they got it all but

my stepmom said my dad has to get chemo in which of course I am not thrilled

about .There was controversy when I stopped vaccinating my kids so I am kind of

skeptical on mentioning the idea of a homeopath to her for him. I know my dad

would not like us bickering and all right now because he needs us and we need

each other . On top of the cancer he has diabetes and parkinsons disease which I

feel came from the dry cleaning plant he worked in for years and that I did tell

him about.

Planting seeds

I was talking on the phone with my sister today when she brought up a friend of

hers whose daughter got strep throat one week, then the next week came down with

chicken pox (this was a 6 or 7 year old). According to her friend, one of the

little girl's pox spots became infected with strep and it turned into the

flesh-eating strep. She was rushed to the hospital and successfully treated

over time, but now has a terrible scar. My sister started to say, " People think

chicken pox is such a harmless disease... " I cut in, " But it is! " If the

little girl had been treated homeopathically for the strep, her body may not

have been susceptible to chicken pox, and even if she did come down with it, the

pox could also have been treated homeopathically. Not to mention this little

girl was probably vaxed to the max (I don't know if she'd had the ch. pox vax)

and her immune system was probably a mess to begin with.

So, my sister and I had a long talk about homeopathy. She is very skeptical at

this point, but can't dispute the successes my family and I have had lately with

it. She was also telling me about how about twice a year she gets terrible

sinus symptoms that really throw her body for a loop so badly that she has a

hard time functioning on a day to day basis. Of course I recommended she see a

homeopath!! Her solution at this point is to get antibiotics. Grrr...

Hopefully I'm making some headway though. I put in a plug for homeopathy every

chance I get! It's hard not to say too much and overload someone who knows

nothing about it, but I try to hit the high points and then add to it here and

there.

I'm very sorry to hear about your dad, Debbie. I hope they will at least look

at the options at this point. It can't hurt for you to mention it. The

decision is theirs, but you'll know you tried. Good luck!

Debbie,

I know of a case (the mother of a personal friend of mine) in which the

woman was told she had 6 months to live because of breast cancer and the

effects of its spreading to other areas. As off today I ask my buddy about

his mother and he says that she is in remission and due to stop all

chemotherapy in a month if the checkup goes well.

That is a success story if you ask me.

Also, I worked in tissue culture for cancer research in the Navy and I feel

for those hurt by cancer.
