Guest guest
hi all i live in the uk in coventry, if anyone nos anyoneFrom: <elizabethrgonzalez@...> Sent: Thursday, 8 September 2011, 9:46Subject: Re: scoliosis pain Hi, Joe -- You need to find some way to get to a specialist in adult spinal surgery. I am very sorry to hear that your GP did not refer you. The problems of adults with untreated scoliosis can be very complex. You can get much better help from a specialist. I wish we could answer your questions, but we are not doctors and we do not know you personally. Every one of us has a unique case. If you already had scoliosis at age 5, you have a special situation that is not too common. Most of us were diagnosed in our pre-teen or teen years. Scoliosis starting in early childhood is not the most typical kind. With all this pain, you really need to find out what is going on from a qualified spinal specialist. I hope you can also get a referral for skilled pain management. Many of us have had terrible pain, but none of us should have to put up with that kind of agony. It can be very hard to find the best help, I know. It's especially hard when you have to work and you are in all this pain. You probably don't feel like shopping around for new doctors or putting yourself through more tests or x-rays. Try to do what you can -- a little each day. If you tell us your general location -- the state and the nearest big city -- some of our members may have suggestions for doctors who could help you. Best. > > hi my name is joe, i have scoliosis for 2 years 2 year a go i did not no i had scoliosis then thay find it, but its just come to light thay new i had it when i was 5 years old!, when the doctors toll me and thay sayed its best you give up work and i said no i am not giving up work thay said fine it would get you before you give bup work now i now what thay mean the pain is very bad and i am fining it hard to walk , can anyone tell me, how bad is the paining going to get, is there anyone out there in the same boat!!!!!!!2 weeks a go i was on 10mg now i am on 60mgs and my walking is bad, the gps will not tell me can anyone tell me please!!help me, the doctors at the hospital there can notdo anything for me i am just on my own, can anyone please help me joe >
Guest guest
Joe, I'm having a little trouble following your post. You're on 60mg of what? What type of doctor are you seeing for this - just a gp, or perhaps an orthopedic surgeon? Have you had fusion surgery for your scoliosis, and now you're experiencing new pain? Or have you never had a spinal fusion? If you haven't had surgery, I think that a general scoliosis group might be a better place for you to find help. This group is for people who have had previous surgeries (typically many years ago) and are now experiencing flatback as a result of those surgeries. We can offer you some advice, but you'd probably be better served by a general scoliosis group if you haven't had an initial fusion surgery. Please tell us a little more about your background, and we'll be able to help you better. > > hi my name is joe, i have scoliosis for 2 years 2 year a go i did not no i had scoliosis then thay find it, but its just come to light thay new i had it when i was 5 years old!, when the doctors toll me and thay sayed its best you give up work and i said no i am not giving up work thay said fine it would get you before you give bup work now i now what thay mean the pain is very bad and i am fining it hard to walk , can anyone tell me, how bad is the paining going to get, is there anyone out there in the same boat!!!!!!!2 weeks a go i was on 10mg now i am on 60mgs and my walking is bad, the gps will not tell me can anyone tell me please!!help me, the doctors at the hospital there can notdo anything for me i am just on my own, can anyone please help me joe >
