Guest guest Posted October 3, 2004 Report Share Posted October 3, 2004 RE: Restrictive Lung Disease I thought I had asthma but the pulmonary tests didn't show asthma at the time. The doctor said the tests showed that my lungs were restricted by my rib cage and I was unable breathe in air to full capacity. He labeled it restrictive lung disease. However I do have a slight case of asthma as I wheeze at times. I take theophyline to help my lungs expand a little more than they would normally. Guest guest Posted October 3, 2004 Report Share Posted October 3, 2004 I forgot to add that the rib cages restricting my lung capacity is a result of the scoliosis. The same thing happened to my daughter. She started wheezing about a year before her surgery and it was due to her rib cage enclosing on her lungs.
