Hi--

My child's scoliosis surgeon has retired and we are looking for another " good

fit. " Has anyone had experience with either Dr. Emans in Boston or Dr.

in Texas that they would be willing to share? Off list is fine if this

is

not appropriate for the list.

Thank You!

Bek

Hi Bek,

<<Has anyone had experience with either Dr. Emans in Boston or Dr.

Both surgeons are excellent. Dr. Emans has more extensive experience with

rare scoliosis and other spine abnormalities. Dr. helps children

with rare spine and rib/chest anomalies, since young children with these

problems will end up with lung function issues later in life (if not

sooner). Dr. was my son's surgeon for his titanium rib implants.

Now we stay with our local doc (who is also approved to do the same

procedure). Depending on your child's situation, you will likely find these

docs very helpful in your child's overall health (which is also very

important). If you'd like, I can private mail you our experience with

severe congenital scoliosis issues. If we didn't have our surgeon locally

(Dr. ), I would go to Emans in Boston in a heartbeat. I've met

him and he has a great bedside manner. Again, I believe both are

exceptional physicians.
