Sorry for the wrong info - I'm out on my decimals-

LD50 for human oral ingestion 28 gm/kg therefor 1680 gm/kg for a 60 kg

adult.

Sorry for the mix-up.

____

I don't know - but the ingredients didn't seem to be terribly

dangerous - especially in 1-2 drop quantities. The ingredients in my

iodine tincture are:

-Iodine 25mg/ml

-Potassium Iodide 25 mg/ml

-Ethyl Alcohol

-Purified Water

The question is whether the ethyl alcohol in tincture of Iodine has

been denatured or not. If it is denatured, the manufacturer does not

have to pay the high alcohol tax, so there is plenty of incentive to

make the tincture with denatured alcohol.

Lugol's is much less expensive than tincture of Iodine, so why

not use Lugol's?

______

Good point about the denaturation of the alcohol.

I have not been able to find Lugol's where I live - but the tincture

is available - so I was wondering.
