Guest guest
> > I have noticed that I developed bands or horizontal raised areas across my big toe nails for every period of time I mega dosed iodine stopped and restarted. Its just that the toe nail got thicker when on iodine apparently. Anyone else have these finger or toe nail growth bands? I don't have any from iodine yet (6 weeks is probably a bit soon to spot it), but when I was a farrier, I regularly spotted changes in my client's horse's diet by the change in the quality/amount of their hoof growth. Better nutrition resulted in thicker, more resiliant, less brittle growth. There was often a ridge where this better growth had started. My clients would wonder how I knew that they had changed their horse's feed/supplement program 3 months earlier, for example. Maybe I should have told them I was physic <lol>. During the winter, growth would slow down. Keratin metabolism is affected by temperature. One might infer that raised areas during time of iodine supplementing are from either increased metabolism, improved nutrition, or both. As an aside, before I went on progesterone supplementation, I had very thick, yellow, ugly toenails. They looked like they belonged to a 95-year old. I used to file the entire nail down to make them look half-way presentable. They are now a normal thickness and relatively pink.
