Guest guest
Hi, Try to get fresh beets and boil one, cut it up and eat it if you do not have a juicer. You can slice it very thin and eat it throughout the day. One half a day might be all you can handle. It's so upsetting, I really want to be juicing at this time. There's just no way I can do it. I have a beet question - I bought pickled beets. My grocery only had pickled and then plain canned. Pickled in vinegar isn't considered spicy is it? I just know I cannot handle anything spicy right now, and I'm scared of everyhting at this point. -----Original Message----- From: gallstones [mailto:gallstones ] On Behalf Of Msewarner@... Guest guest
I make a wonderful gallbladder/health salad most days. I rip up a very large leaf of kale (or two medium-sized ones), grate a nice-sized beet and a carrot into the kale, and then add a scant handful of broccoli sprouts and either some fresh oregano (if the health food store has it that week) or a teaspoon of dried. All produce is organic. For dressing, I use 1/2 cup of a good-quality tomato juice made from whole tomatoes only (not reconstituted), 2 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil, 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, and 1 clove of minced garlic. Although I do not care for beets, their taste is not prominent in this mix, and I actually enjoy eating this salad. My husband always comments on how good it smells, and my daughter always says how pretty it looks with the green, burgundy, and orange colors. Guest guest
This sounds DELICIOUS!!! I will try it as soon as I can get to a better store with fresh beets. I had another gb attack last night, not as bad as the others, just very uncomfortable for about an hour. -----Original Message----- From: gallstones [mailto:gallstones ] On Behalf Of Dennler Sent: Monday, October 30, 2006 12:43 AM gallstones Subject: Re: juicing and beet question I make a wonderful gallbladder/health salad most days.
