I have a " hypothesis " about this, particularly after hearing that so many

bandsters are tight in the morning and more loose at night. I've been curious

about the saline that stays in the tubing ever since I first saw how the band

works. I think while we are lying down, the saline from the tubing disperses

some into our lapband and that after we are up and moving throughout the day,

gravity pulls some of the saline back down into the tubing, making us less

restricted. Hey, no science to support this (yet), but that's what I think is

going on. Anyone with a nice recliner chair want to do an experiement on behalf

of the group? (HEE HEE!) You could compare next day restriction on a day

following sleeping upright to the restriction you have on regular sleeping days

and get back to us? You could get fancy and report it with varying levels of

recline (45 degrees, totally upright, etc.). Hey, give yourself an excuse to

go out and purchase a Lazy Boy recliner on behalf of science. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

LOL!

Hello Friends,

Im getting my first fill this Thursday. But in the last few weeks

Ive noticed that my band seems to have gotten tighter on its own

because I havent been able to eat as much and have gotten that

intense pain in the chest thing (PB related) when eating foods like

chicken or other non seafood meats, that didnt used to cause that PB

feeling. Sometimes its due to taking too large of a bite, but not

always, which is why Im wondering if the band gets tighter naturally

as we lose weight???

You've had a bit of an unusual course by not needing a fill so long.

The band is very variable after a fill, and sometimes even before.

One day it may be very loose and the next much tighter. It has to do

with hormones, hydration levels, and a lot more we probably don't

know.

Be a bit careful of getting a fill right now, if your band is

tighter. I'd suggest, If you're going down to see Dr. Kuri, go ahead

and go, and let him do a fluoro and be sure everything still looks

good. If you're staying locally, and maybe not having a fluoro, you

might want to hold off on the fill for a couple weeks. you really

should get a fill only when you are having NO problems with the

current level of restriction. Cheers! Sandy R

Well, I ate crap soft food tonite, and way too much of it in a fairly

mediocre hotel restaurant. Could have made other choices....but was

after " comfort food " in scenic downtown Pocatello....so I had it. Now

I'm sitting on the bed, catching up on old email, and watching the

news. Such fun.
