Hi Shefy,

Your situation sounds familiar to me, and yes albuterol can cause heart

palpitations, I use a Maxair inhaler only when I have to, the Maxair doesn't

cause as much of the heart flutters and palps. You might want to discuss

changing your prescription with your health care provider.

Just curious but how old are you? I developed asthma later in life, right

around the time I started going into perimenopause.

I'm just 22....I don't think it's asthma at all...I moved to (farm city)

last year to finish school. My allergies were horrible and I developed a

breathing problem. the doctor said i have seasonal asthma and put me on qvar

and albuterol.I think i took it for about a month and everything was fine. It

happened again this year so i started taking both inhalers again. I felt the

palpitation the day after i took albuterol...which i thought was weird.... and

then i started panicking a bit bc i didn't know what was happening. i haven't

been able to calm down after that....I'm still feeling shortness of breath and

sometimes my heart beats hard and fast. I'm going to tell my dr. to do a chest

xray to check if there's any inflammation...and blood work for my thyroid...

thanks
