High Fat Diet releases stones

Hello all,

I have been interested in gallstone formation and cleanses for quite

some time, and I am unsure of the validity of many topics surrounding

these things (i.e. olive oil flush, constant reformation of stones,

liver stones, etc.).

I am eating a high-fat, moderate protein, low-carb diet. Most of the

time, I eat 1 lb of fatty meat (red meat, chicken, duck, fatty fish)

a day with extra fat on the side (coconut oil/milk). I do not feel

that low-fat diets are healthy, as I have experienced bad health as a

low-fat vegetarian in the past. Since starting my high fat diet (1

year ago), every now and again I have noticed some undigested fat in

my stools -- mostly white and sometimes greenish " stones. " This is

quite simply a fat malabsorption issue, which I am currently working

on (possibly an enzyme/stomach acid deficiency).

In the past, the " stones " have been mixed in with fecal matter. Most

were white due to my habit of eating rendered beef fat. Only a few

time did I see them resemble the pictures that others have posted of

their stones. Just recently (last night), I couldn't sleep due to

indigestion so I went and squated on the toilet. Pretty soon, it

felt like I was shooting pellets out of my bum!

When I turned on the light (yes, I poo in the dark sometimes), I saw

HUNDREDS of greenish (light and dark) " stones. " They were tiny to

thumbnail-sized, and they floated. The rest of my stool was very

light in color (bile?). Crazy!

What the heck happened??? The only thing I can tie this situation to

was my eating a bunch of beef tallow for a couple days before. Also,

I've been drinking a lot of bone broth with my meals -- this last

batch was the first time I used apples in the broth. AND I had a

couple of whey protein shakes with coconut milk and oil. I've been

eating fatty fish for the past couple of days, as well.

One theory I have is that the " stones " are malabsorbed beef fat,

which I ate quite a bit of by itself (maybe 4 oz in one sitting -- I

was hungry!). This would lead me to question the gallstone cleanse

as being mere fat malabsorption! I think that people feel better

from the cleanse because of the fasting and dietary changes that come

with it. The reduction in fat especially will spare the gall bladder

from doing much of anything (hence the " cure " ).

What is overlooked is the importance of fat in maintaining body

functions and healing disease states. Low-fat is bad, I tell you!

Like I said, I eat a very high-fat, animal food-based diet. I will

never go back to my veggie days. Real gallstones, I believe, are

formed when fat and cholesterol intake is too LOW. Low fat

consumptions atrophies the gall bladder, thus forming stones from the

stagnant bile. Be careful with your low-fat ventures, everyone!

Any comments are appreciated!

Sincerely,
