Guest guest
Hi Dave, Yes, diabetes does run in my father's family.......not on my Mom's side. However all of my fasting glucose test have been normal. My anemia is most likely caused by a lot of heavy menstrual cycles that are irregular and frequent as I'm going thru menopause (hell)! thanks for the suggestions on chlorophyll sounds like I need to add that to my diet. I'm curious about what relation anemia has to diabetes.......... my husband is a diabetic. thanks again, Dee
Guest guest
Hi Dee, No real connection between diabetes and anemia except for the fact that everything is related and interconnected to everything else. My reference to diabetes was based on the symptoms you described. The craving for ice (the Chinese definition of diabetes is " extreme thirst " ), light headedness, etc. The fact that you crave ice but are cold most of the time is a bit curious. I have seen this before in endocrine dysfunction. Your " menopausal " symptoms would also point in this direction. I mentioned the possibility of a diabetic link because the physiological manifestation (Syndrome X, how do you like that for a definitive medical term? ha, ha) that would lend one to gallstones would also be at high risk of diabetes. I figured that if you were going to see the doc for a blood test it might be prudent to eliminate the possibility of diabetes while you were there. Endocrine tonics: Sheng ma (closely related to black cohosh), ho shu wu, saw palmetto (as good for women as for men), cubeb berry, prickly ash bark, schizandra berry, licorice. Blood tonics (in Chinese medicine, anemia is a blood deficient condition): Rehmannia, dong guai, placenta (what could be more blood building? You can get it in capsules of lyophilized tissue), white peony root, lycium berry ( $6 per pound at the herb store $40 pound from the multi-level as " go gi " berry). Hope this helps. Always, in all ways, -Dave ----- Original Message ----- From: ladybug35@...<mailto:ladybug35@...> gallstones <mailto:gallstones > Sent: Saturday, April 29, 2006 8:03 PM Subject: Re: Re: Anemia/Diabetes Hi Dave, Yes, diabetes does run in my father's family.......not on my Mom's side.
