I'll be interested to hear the replies to this from the more experienced

members of the list. I've wondered about this myself. I'm sure if I drank

half a cup of oil it would give me severe heartburn and a gallbladder

attack.

Hi ,

The epsom salts are alkaline not acid. The indigestion is probably from

the oil and a glitch in bile production. Since the apple juice was worse than

the grapefruit, I would suspect that you are under acid not over. While eating

a full meal in the middle of the night is not optimum, you probably didn't harm

the effectiveness of the flush much, you just cannot view what you dumped very

well. Keep flushing.

Subject: Severe indigestion from flush ingredients

Does anyone have suggestions for how to deal with severe indigestion

from the ingredients of Dr. 's gallbladder flush. I did the flush

a year ago with pretty good results and considerable indigestion. I

tried it again 3 weeks ago, because I am still having pains typical of

liver/gallbladder congestion. This time the indigestion was so severe

that I had to get up out of bed after drinking the olive oil and I

drank some almond milk. That didn't help very much so I ended up

cutting the flush short by eating a full meal in the middle of the

night.

The indigestion consisted of extreme acid stomach after every one of

the flush ingredients, combined with unending belching that forced me

to sit up in bed. The flush I did a year ago was with grapefruit. I

tried apple juice this time thinking it would be less acidic, but it

was even worse. I suspect it is the epsom salts that are the main

cause of the acid stomach. Is this indigestion a sign that my

gallbladder is falling down on the job too much to be helped? Is there

an alternative to the epsom salts?

Dave, , and n,

Thank you all for the rapid thoughtful responses. I think Dave nailed the

problem when he said I might be under-acid. Thinking back to other times in

my life when I have had that severity of acid indigestion it was due to low

HCl, caused ultimately by stress and fatigue.

I was having quite a bit of pain when I wrote this post a couple days ago

so I went ahead and did the flush last night. This time I had no acid

indigestion at all. I don't seem to have produced many stones either. But

it sure did relieve the immediate pain and pressure. This time I used

grapefruit instead of apple juice. And most importantly, this time I was

already well rested and hadn't been having any indigestion lately. I may

have gotten fewer stones because I went a little light on the oil this

time. Now that my confidence is up for maintaining a reasonable comfort

level, I will not skimp on the oil next time.

Thanks again,

Hi Alison,

Have you never done the flush before? It is worth doing for sure. Do you

have Alacer " Emer'gen-C " there in UK? It is a powdered mineral ascorbate

vitamin C drink. 1 packet of that with each dose of Epsom's salt really

helped me a lot. And 3/4 cup of fresh grapefruit juice well shaken with 1/2

cup olive oil went down quite nicely. Last time I drank the oil first and

then chased it with the juice. That didn't mask the oil very well at all.

It left my gag reflex going for a couple of hours.

Take care,
