Guest guest
Hi Group, My husband I both have been going to a Naturopath and he had us on a cleanse he sells for the colon and also for parasites...... he gave us a GB cleanse recipe to use after we used this cleanse for several weeks. My husband tried the cleanse on Monday Night and woke up and went to the bathroom and felt nauseous and while sitting on the toilet he got dizzy and passed out and broke his nose.........(he had surgery yesterday to set it back in place). My question is why would he pass out on the cleanse, he had no pain whatsoever and he has never had a GB attack. The naturopath said he had gall stones by looking at his eyes using Iridology. The recipe he used was 1 cup of Olive oil instead of 1/2 cup that I use..........could the amount of oil have the effect of making someone so ill they pass out? I did go and talk to our Naturopath and ask him about this he said the amount of oil wouldn't cause that and he had never heard of anyone having that effect. My husband is on Actos for diabetes but his sugar is always under control and I'm wondering if possibly he could have passed out from a low blood sugar episode caused by fasting that day and only drinking apple juice. He has never had a low blood sugar episode before...........and he does fast periodically for religous reasons. Thanks, Dee
Guest guest
Im sorry to hear that. Boy you try to help yourself and get a broken nose. Owie. I bet it was the low blood sugar, maybe the oil reacted to it? You have to be careful on any cleanse. The thing is you are fasting and not getting normal nutrients into your body. Your eliminating liquids from your body. He may have been dehydrated. I would seriously get his potassium checked and make sure it is okay. He may need some supplementation. I hope you didn't have black liquoris root in anything you took? It is SEVERLY dehydrating. Check the ingredients of the cleanses you were taking. If it is in there he may need a few IV's or potassium pills. You don't want that to drop and if it is already down your prone to strokes and heart attacks and age does not matter. --- In gallstones , " ladybug35@... Guest guest
I will say we don't even suggest doing strict cleanses for our thyroid people anyone taking any kind of drugs must always look at the consquences when you disrupt that drug in your blood stream. Diabetics must always keep a constant blood sugar level. Any type of disruption in their diet can cause low or high blood sugar and it's totally important to know this and be prepared. You will have to figure out a way to modify the flush so this doesn't happen again. Even regular people must be careful not to lose essential electrolytes when they flush!!! I am really sorry this happen to you but it could of been worse---please get proper advice on this before you try it again. http://www.dlife.com/dLife/do/ShowContent/blood_sugar_management/high _and_lows/ Blood sugar levels that are too high or too low can quickly turn into a diabetic emergency without quick and appropriate treatment. The best way to avoid dangerously high or low blood glucose levels is to self-test to stay in tune with your body and to stay attuned to the symptoms and risk factors for hypoglycemia, diabetic ketoacidosis, and hyperglycemic hyperosmolar nonketotic syndrome. Low Blood Sugar Emergencies (Hypoglycemia) Hypoglycemia is sometimes called " insulin reaction " because it is more frequent in people with diabetes who take insulin. However, it can occur in either type 1 or type 2 diabetes, and is also commonly caused by certain oral medications, missed meals, and exercise without proper precautions. The typical threshold for hypoglycemia is 70 mg/dl (3.9 mmol/l), although it may be higher or lower depending on a patient's individual blood glucose target range. Symptoms include erratic heartbeat, sweating, dizziness, confusion, unexplained fatigue, shakiness, hunger, and potential loss of consciousness. Once a low is recognized, it should be treated immediately with a fast-acting carbohydrate such as glucose tablets or juice. High Blood Sugar Emergencies (DKA or HHNS) Extremely high blood glucose levels can lead to one of two conditions — diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and hyperglycemic hyperosmolar nonketotic syndrome (HHNS; also called hyperglycemic hyperosmolar nonketotic coma). Although both syndromes can occur in either type 1 or type 2 diabetes, DKA is more common in type 1 and HHNS is more common in type 2. --- In gallstones , " ladybug35@... Guest guest
Hi Dee, I don't know how much experience your Naturopath has had with flushes, but I for one would " never " recommend someone with diabetes fast, especially on applejuice--- and one cup of oil for someone flushing for the first time is " alot " --- many people puke with that much the especially the first time---As s Moritz (The Amazing Liver Flush---see link below) considers Liver Flushing as " minor surgery " ---something not to be taken lightly---there are many variables to consider if you want a successful liver flush--- http://www.ener-chi.com/books.htm Perhaps your husband would do better with a gradual flush, or one that allows him to eat---there are many variations out there--- www.curezone.com has a few to choose from--- hth, Donna --- In gallstones , " ladybug35@...
